«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է

Շաշկին հայտնի սեղանի խաղ է, որը հիմնականում խաղում են երկուսով: Կարող են մասնակցել նաև չորս հոգի՝ խաղալով երկուսը երկուսի դեմ: Խաղի էությունը քարերը դաշտով վանդակից վանդակ տեղափոխելն է՝ «ուտելով» հակառակորդի քարերը: Այս խաղի պատմությունը սկիզբ է առել հնագույն ժամանակներում և համարվում է առեղծված: Այդ հիանալի խաղը ծագել է տարբեր ազգերի մոտ, սակայն ծագման ճշգրիտ տեղը մինչ օրս անհայտ է մնում:

Ըստ վարկածներից մեկի, շաշկին հորինել և պատրաստել է հին հունական ռազմիկ Պալամեդը մ. թ. ա. 1601 թվականին: Նա դա արել է, որպեսզի զինվորները ազատ ժամանակ զվարճանան: Դատելով պեղումներից՝ մ.թ.ա. 1650 թվականին արդեն խաղացել են շաշկի, քանի որ հայտնաբերվել են խաղատախտակների և քարերի նմանությամբ բազմաթիվ իրեր: Կա նաև առասպել այն մասին, որ հենց ինքը՝ Աստված է մտածել այդ խաղի մասին: Իմաստն այն է, որ երբ Աստված շաշկի խաղալիս հաղթել է իր հակառակորդին, վերցրել է հինգ օր Լուսնից և դրանք ավելացրել 360 օրվա վրա, որն էլ արդեն դարձել է մեկ տարի:

Շաշկին ու շախմատը շատ նման են միմյանց: Այդ խաղերն ունեն նույն շարժումները դաշտում և նույն խաղատախտակը: Ենթադրվում է, որ շաշկիի «դաման» ծագել է շախմատի թագուհուց: Այդպիսի նմանությունները պատահական չեն, քանի որ շաշկու խաղաքարերը հիմնականում հայտնվել են շախմատի հիմքի վրա: Շաշկին հայտնի է եղել ասպետների շրջանում: Նրանց մոտ շաշկի խաղալու կարողությունը համարվել է կրթության տարր: Յուրաքանչյուր ասպետից պահանջվել է, որ տիրապետի այդ խաղին: Սկզբում շաշկու խաղաքարերը պատրաստել են քարից և կավից:

Ժամանակի ընթացքում դրանք սկսել են կատարելագործվել և ավելի հարմարեցվել խաղի համար: Խաղաքարերը սկսել են պատրաստել փայտից, այնուհետև՝ տարբեր այլ նյութերից: Շաշկու տախտակը ևս սկզբից պատրաստել են քարից, որի վրա փորագրել են դաշտերը: Ժամանակի ընթացքում այն ևս սկսել են պատրաստել փայտից, իսկ դաշտերը ներկել բաց և մուգ գույներով: Խաղի համար հատկացվել են հատուկ սենյակներ, որպեսզի ոչ ոք և ոչինչ չկարողանա խանգարել խաղի ժամանակ կենտրոնացմանը: Ժամանակի ընթացքում տարբեր փոփոխություններ են մտցվել խաղի կանոնների մեջ, և խաղի էվոլ յուցիա է տեղի ունեցել: Դա արվել է այն նպատակով, որ խաղը չձգձգվի և շատ ավելի արագ ընթանա: Ժամանակի ընթացքում շաշկու տարատեսակներ են հայտնվել՝ ֆրիզերեն, միջազգային, կանադական, բրազիլական, ռուսական, բջջային և այլն: Ժամանակին շաշկին լայն տարածում է գտել Եվրոպայում:

Գրեթե բոլորն են իմացել, թե ինչպես խաղալ այն: Նույնիսկ եկեղեցին է խրախուսել այդ խաղը և ոչ մի արգելք չի դրել դրա վրա: Շաշկու առաջին առաջնությունը տեղի է ունեցել հենց Եվրոպայում: 1725 թվականին սահմանվել են 100 վանդականոց խաղատախտակով և 20-ական խաղաքարով միջազգային շաշկու խաղի կանոնները։ 1947 թվականին հիմնադրվել է Շաշկու համաշխարհային ֆեդերացիան, որը միավորում է շուրջ 50 երկիր և զբաղվում է այդ խաղի զարգացման հարցերով։

Ներկայումս անցկացվում են 100 վանդականոց շաշկու միջազգային մրցաշարեր, աշխարհի առաջնություններ։ Ներկայումս շաշկին համարվում է սպորտային խաղ: Այն այսօր էլ, լինելով սեղանի սիրելի խաղ շատ-շատերի համար, շարունակում է զարգանալ և բարելավվել:
