«168 ժամ» թերթը գրում է. «Աբովյան քաղաքի քաղաքապետի թեկնածու Արթուր Հարությունյանը (Պալաչ) մեր թղթակցի հետ զրույցում՝ պատասխանելով հարցի, թե չընտրվելու դեպքում՝ չե՞ք ընդդիմանա, կասկածի չե՞ք ենթարկի ընտրությունների արդարացիությունը, նա պատասխանել է. «Շատ ուշադիր ձայնագրեք իմ բառերը՝ ես ընտրվելու եմ, դա լավ իմացեք, որովհետև աբովյանցին արդեն ուշքի է եկել, աբովյանցին այսօր մեծ մասով հույսերը կապում է իմ անվան հետ, որովհետև իմ ընտրվելով՝ աբովյանցին համարում է, որ ինքն է ընտրվել: Այնպես որ, նման տարբերակ չկա: Իմ չընտրվելու դեպքում՝ նշանակում է՝ ընտրակեղծիքներ են տեղի ունեցել, իսկ ընտրակեղծիքները տեղի են ունենում այն ժամանակ, երբ դիմացի թեկնածուն թույլ է»:

Հարցին, եթե Դուք չընտրվեք, կհամարեք, որ ընտրակեղծիքներ են եղել, այդ դեպքում ի՞նչ եք անելու, Ա. Հարությունյանը պատասխանել է. «Բայց ես պետք է թույլ լինեմ, որ ընտրակեղծիք թույլ տամ, ընտրակեղծիքների դեմն արդեն առնված է, իրենց վրա էլ խաբար չկա, եթե իրենք իրենց գլխներից ձեռք են քաշել, թող մի հատ փորձեն այդ օրն ընտրակեղծիք անել, իրենց այդ խոստացած հանձնաժողովի անդամները, ում վզին դրել են, որ պետք է անպայման ընտրակեղծիք անեն, թող փորձվեն, հետո կտեսնեն՝ ինչ է կատարվում, ինձ թվում է՝ հետո սաղ կյանքները կզղջան, որ նման բան արեցին»:

Նա նշել է, որ խնդրելու է մարդկանց, որպեսզի ընտրակեղծիք չանեն, «այլապես թաթիկները կկոտրենք, մեղմ ասած»:
