Հյուսիսային Իտալիայում մոծակների նոր տեսակ է հայտնվել, որոնք ունակ են մահացու հիվանդություններ տարածել: Այս մասին ասվում է Միլանի պետական ​​համալսարանի գիտնականների կողմից հրապարակված Parasites & Vectors միջազգային գիտական ​​ամսագրում հրապարակված հետազոտության մեջ:

Գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ ի տարբերություն շատ այլ տեսակների, «կորեական» մոծակները լավ են դիմանում ցրտին եւ այժմ ակտիվորեն տարածվում են հյուսիսային Իտալիայի լեռնային շրջաններում: Այն փաստը, որ այս տեսակը հայտնաբերվել է Բերգամոյում, ստիպել է գիտնականներին ենթադրել, որ դրանք նահանգում են հայտնվել այնտեղ գտնվող Օրիո ալ Սերիո միջազգային օդանավակայանի միջոցով:
