Մեծ Բրիտանիան, որն անցյալ տարի զորքերը դուրս էր բերել Աֆղանստանից, դարձյալ զինվորականների մի փոքրիկ քանակություն է ուղարկել այնտեղ Գիլմենդի նահանգում արմատական «Թալիբան» շարժման գրոհայինների դեմ կռվող տեղի բանակին խորհրդատվական աջակցություն տրամադրելու համար:

«Բրիտանական ռազմակազմի մի փոքրիկ քանակ ՆԱՏՕ-ի առաքելության շրջանակում ուղարկվել է Գիլմենդի նահանգում գտնվող  «Շորաբաք» ճամբար որպես խորհրդատուներ», - ասել է Մեծ Բրիտանիայի պաշտպանության նախարարության ներկայացուցիչը, տեղեկացնում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստին»: 

Նրա խոսքով, զինվորականները ՆԱՏՕ-ի ռազմակազմի շրջանակում խորհրդատվական աջակցություն են տրամադրում Աֆղանստանի Ազգային բանակին: «Նրանք չեն մասնակցում մարտերին եւ չեն գործի ճամբարի սահմաններից դուրս», - հավելել է նա:

Պաշտպանության նախարարության ներկայացուցիչը չի ճշտել ռազմակազմի թիվը, սակայն բրիտանական լրատվամիջոցների տվյալներով, այն կարող է մոտ  30 մարդ ընդգրկել:

Պաշտպանության նախարարության ներկայացուցիչը նաեւ հիշեցրել է, որ անցյալ տարի Աֆղանստանից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի զորագնդերի դուրս բերումից հետո այդ երկրում մնացել են զինվորականներ, որոնք մասնակցում են Աֆղանստանի Ազգային բանակի մարզմանը: 

Վերջին ամիսներին իրավիճակն Աֆղանստանում նկատելիորեն վատացել է: Արմատական    «Թալիբան» շարժումը, որն ավելի վաղ երկրի գյուղական շրջաններում զգալի տարածքի էր տիրացել, խոշոր քաղաքների վրա հարձակում է կազմակերպել: Սեպտեմբերի վերջին  «Թալիբանի» գրոհայինները գրավեցին հյուսիսաֆղանական Կունդուզ քաղաքը, որը խաղաղ ժամանակներում ավելի քան   300 հազար բնակիչ ուներ, իսկ այժմ գրոհներ են իրականացնում Ղազնի քաղաքի ուղղությամբ, որը երկրի մայրաքաղաք Քաբուլից դեպի հարավ-արեւմուտք ընկած համանուն նահանգի ադմինիստրատիվ կենտրոնն է:  

Կիրակի լույս երկուշաբթիի գիշերը  «Թալիբանի» գրոհայինները վերահսկողության տակ են առել Աֆղանստանի հարավում գտնվող Գիլմենդի նահանգի Սանգինի շրջանը:
