Պատերազմի վտանգը անձամբ ինձ համար կար արդեն 2018 թվականին, երբ այդ տարվա հոկտեմբերին Փաշինյանը Դուշանբեում հանդիպեց Ադրբեջանի նախագահին՝ վերելակում, որից հետո նրանք երեկոյան առանձնացան։ Ես դրանից հետո որոշ տեղեկություններ ստացա, որ նրանց միջեւ պայմանավորվածություն է եղել երկու տարվա ընթացքում լուծել այս հարցը։ Այս մասին քիչ առաջ «Կորսված հաղթանակ. դավաճանություն, թե անգրագիտություն» խորագրով համաժողովի ժամանակ իր ելույթում ասաց լրագրող, հեռուստամեկնաբան Նաիրի Հոխիկյանը։ Նշենք, որ համաժողովը նախաձեռնել է «Հայաստան» դաշինքը։

«Դուք լավ եք հիշում, որ երբ հոկտեմբերին Նիկոլը վերադարձավ, ինչպես էր այդ մարդու հասցեին շատ կիրթ բառերով արտահայտվում։ Որպես ոլորտի արդեն 15 տարվա ներկայացուցիչ, ես միանգամից հասկացա, որ տեղի է ունենում լրագրողական շատ պարզ մանիպուլյացիա, ուղեղի լվացմամբ տեղի է ունենում թշնամու նկատմամբ մարդկանց վերաբերմունքի փոփոխություն։Սփյուռքի հետ հարաբերություններն էլ երբ որ արդեն սկսեցին այնպես չգնալ, արդեն պարզ էր, որ այստեղ պարզապես տեղի է ունենում հայկական դիմադրողականության ոչնչացում։ Ես որոշ տեղեկություններ էի ստացել, որ այդ պայմանավորվածության ընթացքում համաձայնեցվել է Արցախի գոնե մի քանի շրջանների հանձնում՝ առաջին փուլով։ Դրանից հետո տեղի ունեցան արտահերթ խորհրդարանական ընտրություններ, որից հետո ամբողջ իշխանությունը կենտրոնացվեց մեկ ուժի ձեռքում»,- ասաց Հոխիկյանը։
