Ութսունյոթ տարեկանում դեկտեմբերի 20-ին կյանքից հեռացել է ՀՀ արվեստի վաստակավոր գործիչ, երաժշտագետ և երաժշտական քննադատ, արվեստագիտության դոկտոր, պրոֆեսոր Գեորգի Շմավոնի Գյոդակյանը: 

Գեորգի Գյոդակյանը ծնվել է 1928 թվականին, Գյումրիում: 1952 թվականին ավարտել է Երևանի Կոմիտասի անվան պետական կոնսերվատորիան, 1955 թվականին` Մոսկվայի կոնսերվատորիայի ասպիրանտուրան: 1957 թվականից աշխատել է ՀՀ ԳԱԱ արվեստի ինստիտուտում, 1965 թվականից` բաժնի վարիչ, 1979-2005 թվականներին՝ փոխտնօրեն: 1973-1991 թվականներին եղել է Հայաստանի կոմպոզիտորների միության վարչության քարտուղարը: 1977 թվականից դասավանդել է Երևանի կոնսերվատորիայում, 2003 թվականից պրոֆեսոր է: Գ. Գյոդակյանը հեղինակ է հայ երաժշտության պատմությանը և տեսությանը նվիրված բազմաթիվ աշխատ ությունների: Երկար տարիներ զբաղվել է Կոմիտասի ժառանգության ուսումնասիրությամբ և հանրահռչակմամբ: Լինելով համաշխարհային երաժշտական արվեստի լավագույն մասնագետներից մեկը՝ տարիներ շարունակ, որպես մանկավարժ, եվրոպական երաժշտական արվեստի տեսական հմտություններ է փոխանցել բազմաթիվ երաժշտագետների: Հայ ժամանակակից երաժշտարվեստի զարգացման գործում ունեցած ծանրակշիռ ավանդի համար նա արժանացել է ՀՀ արվեստի վաստակավոր գործչի պատվավոր կոչման, «Մովսես Խորենացի» մեդալի: 
Մեծ մտավորականի հիշատակը հավերժ կմնա հայ երաժշտարվեստի պատության մեջ: 

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարարության աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի բաժնից, Գեորգի Գյոդակյանի հոգեհանգիստը տեղի կունենա դեկտեմբերի 22-ին, ժամը 18:00-ին, Էրեբունի թանգարանին կից` Նուբարաշենի 14-րդ փողոցում գտնվող սգո սրահում: Վերջին հրաժեշտը՝ դեկտեմբերի 23-ին, նույն վայրում, ժամը 14:00-ին: Հուղարկավորությունը տեղի կունենա նույն օրը Երևանի կենտրոնական գերեզմանատանը (Թոխմախ):
