evrazia.org-ն գրում է, որ Հայաստանը կողմ է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում ռուս խաղաղապահների գտնվելու ժամկետի երկարաձգմանը. «Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության խաղաղապահ կոնտինգենտի գործոնը կարևոր և նշանակալից կլինի այնքան ժամանակ, քանի դեռ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի կարգավիճակի հարցի լուծումը չի գտնվել»,- հայտարարել է Հայաստանի անվտանգության խորհուրդը։ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները նշել են, որ այս պահին իրավիճակը տարածաշրջանում բավականաչափ կայուն չէ, քանի որ կան հրադադարի խախտումներ։
Հակամարտության գոտում ռուս խաղաղապահների ներկայությունը, ըստ Հայաստանի անվտանգության խորհրդի, «կարևոր գործոն է հայերի անվտանգության ապահովման համար, ինչպես նաև ծառայում է որպես ստեղծվող ենթակառուցվածքի անվտանգության, բնակչության և բեռների անխափան և կայուն շարժման երաշխավոր»: Միաժամանակ մի շարք փորձագետներ կարծում են, որ Հայաստանի դիրքորոշումը Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ որոշակիորեն հակասական է։ Մասնավորապես, մի շարք վերլուծաբանների կարծիքով, դա բացատրվում է այն փաստով, որ 44-օրյա պատերազմի ժամանակ Մոսկվան նախընտրել էր չմիջամտել հակամարտությանը։
