ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը պետք է տոկունության փորձություն անցնի Ռուսաստանի հետ հարաբերությունների հարցում: Նման կարծիք է հայտնել ամերիկացի հանրապետական սենատոր Թոմ Քոթոնը Wall Street Journal-ում հրաարակված «Ռուսաստանը՝ Բայդենի արտաքին քաղաքականության հաջորդ փորձությունը» վերանագրով հոդվածում:
Սենատորի կարծիքով՝ ԱՄՆ նախագահը պետք է անհապաղ անցում կատարի կլիմայական օրակարգից և ուշադրություն դարձնի Մոսկվային և նրա «ագրեսիվ գործողություններին» Կիևի նկատմամբ:
Ամերիկացի սենատորը կրկին անդրադարձել է ռուսական սահմաններին զինված ուժերի մոտեցման մասին լուրերին, որոնք Կրեմլն ավելի վաղ հերքել էր: Եվրոպայում տիրող գազի ճգնաժամը նա վերագրել է Կրեմլի՝ գազի հոսքը կտրելու և դրանով իսկ իր ազդեցությունն էներգետիկայի շուկայում քաղաքական նպատակներով օգտագործելու ցանկությանը:
Սենատորին դուր չի եկել Բայդենի արձագանքը տեղի ունեցող նկատմամբ: Հերթական անգամ որպես անհրաժեշտ միջոցառում նշվել է Ուկրաինային զենքի մատակարարումն ու Ռուսաստանի մեկուսացումը համաշխարհային ֆինանսական շուկայից:
«Եթե Բայդենը չի ցանկանում, որ Աֆղանստանին ևս մեկ աշխարհաքաղաքական աղետ հաջորդի, ապա պետք է անհապաղ քայլեր ձեռնարկի Ռուսաստանի զսպման ուղղությամբ և ստիպի Պուտինին պաշտպանողական դիրք զվագեցնել»,- գրել է Քոթոնը:
