«Որպես պատմաբան՝ միշտ զարմանում էի, թե ինչպես ենք պատմության տարբեր դրվագներում պետականություն կորցրել, ինչպես են հայոց նախարարաց տները պատերազմել ռեսուրսների ու ազդեցության համար, որի հետևանքով այնքան ենք թուլացել, որ երկիրը մասնատվել է ու սկսել ենք դառնալ այս կամ այն կայսրության մի մաս: Նման մի դրվագ էլ Օսմանյան կայսրությունն էր, որտեղ մեկ ու կես միլիոն հայ ցեղասպանվեց:
Հիմա նախարարաց տները դարձել են կուսակցություններ, բոլորը ատում են իրար, անվանարկում, մեղադրում, կնստեն, «թամաշա» կանեն, թե ինչպես ենք հայրենիք կորցնում, որ հետո մեղադրեն ու ատեն նորովի: Սա քաղաքական պայքար չի, սա ոչ մի կապ չունի այն ամենի հետ, ինչ ընթանում է նորմալ ժողովրդավար երկրներում:
