«Փաստ» թերթի տեղեկություններով, պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար Արշակ Կարապետյանն առաջիկայում նոր պաշտոն կստանա: Մեր աղբյուրը նշել է, որ այս պահին դեռևս հստակություն չկա, թե որտեղ է լինելու Կարապետյանի հերթական նշանակումը, սակայն տեղեկություններ կան, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը նրան պաշտոնից ազատելուց հասկացրել է, որ նա «օդում չի մնա» և անպայման կլինի ուշադրության կենտրոնում:

Ճիշտ է՝ Կարապետյանը շատ ծանր է տարել իր պաշտոնանկությունը և իր շրջապատում հասցրել է բողոքել իր նախկին ղեկավարից՝ նշելով, որ իր նկատմամբ անարդար են վարվել, և ինքն արժանի չի եղել նման վերաբերմունքի, սակայն նոր պաշտոնի խոստումը ստիպում է Կարապետյանին, որ նա ատամները սեղմած պահի և իշխանությունների նկատմամբ իր նեղացածությունը չարտահայտի:

Թերթի տեղեկություններով, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն իր հերթին ևս շահագրգռվածություն ունի վերջինիս պաշտոն տալու և իր աչքի տակ պահելու համար, որովհետև Կարապետյանն անվտանգության համակարգում իշխանության տապալումների առանձնահատկություններին փայլուն տիրապետում է, և չի բացառվում, որ ինչ-որ փուլում կարող է խնդիր ստեղծել իշխանության համար: Հիշեցնենք, որ, ինչպես գրել էինք օրեր առաջ, Արշակ Կարապետյանին պաշտոնից ազատելու պատճառների մեջ նշվում է այն հանգամանքը, որ Փաշինյանին զեկուցել են, թե Արշակ Կարապետյանը նաև Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության անձնագիր ունի:
