Հայկական ԽՍՀ ղեկավարի նամակը Ամերիկայի նախագահին... Չնայած քաղաքական խոչընդոտներին՝ 1920-ական թվականների առաջին կեսին Հայաստանի որբանոցներին տրամադրվող ամերիկյան հումանիտար օգնությունը այնքան մեծ ծավալի էր հասնում, որ Հայկական ԽՍՀ փաստացի ղեկավար՝ Ժողկոմխորհի նախագահ Ալեքսանդր Մյասնիկյանը գնաց այն ժամանակվա համար աննախադեպ քայլի: Նա «Բաց նամակ» հղեց ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ուորեն Հարդինգին՝ իր երախտագիտությունը հայտնելով Հայաստանի որբանոցներին տրամադրած բազմաբնույթ օգնության համար: Ստորև ներկայացնում ենք այդ փաստաթուղթը.

1922 թ., 10-ը մայիսի, Երևան.
«Ձեզ, իբրև ամերիկյան ժողովրդի ներկայացուցչի, ես հայտնում եմ շնորհակալություն ինչպես իմ, այնպես էլ իմ ժողովրդի անունից բոլոր այն զոհողությունների համար, որ կատարեց Ամերիկան Հայաստանի համար: Տասնյակ հազարավոր հայեր այսօր իրենց կյանքով պարտական են վերջին մի քանի տարիներին Ամերիկայից ստացված օգնությանը: Այս բանը մենք երբեք չենք մոռանա: Ես գիտե՛մ, սը՛ր, որ Դուք մեզ հետ եք հոգով եւ սրտով: Ես գիտեմ, որ Ձեր ժողովուրդը մեզ բարիք է կամենում: Մենք կաշխատենք արժանի լինել Ձեր օգնությանն ու լավ վերաբերմունքին՝ անելով հնարավոր ամեն ինչ: Երեսուն հազար որբերը, որոնց ամերիկացիները ապաստան տվեցին՝ մեր երկու երկրների միջեւ բարեկամական ամուր կապերի մշտական գրավականը կլինեն»: (Հայաստանի ազգային արխիվ, ֆ.113, ց. 38, գ. 7, թթ. 26-27):
