«Մայիսի 31-ին Աբովյան քաղաքի քաղաքապետի թեկնածու Կարապետ Իսրայելյանը դիմել է Ոստիկանություն՝ հայտնելով, որ Աբովյանի Հանրապետության փողոցում, գտնվող Կենտրոնական շուկայի տարածքում իրեն ծեծի են ենթարկել: Մեր թղթակցի հետ զրույցում Կ. Իսրայելյանն ասել է. «Փողոցում անգամ մի խոսք հետը չեմ խոսել, դեմս կանգնել է, ինձ հայհոյել և շատ վատ ձևով հարվածել, որովհետև ատամներիս ամբողջ շարժը խախտել է, և գլխիս տվել է երկու հարված, շուկայի բոլոր մարդիկ խառվեցին իրար, աշխարհի ամենասրիկա հայհոյանքներն է ինծ տվել, ես էլ դիմել եմ օրենքին»: Հարցին հավանական չե՞ք համարում, որ անձնական ինչ-որ խնդիրների պատճառով կարող է եղած լինել այս միջադեպը, Կ. Իսրայելյանն այսպես է արձագանքել. «40 տարի իրենց հետ աշխատել եմ, մեկի մի բաժակ ջուրը չեմ խմել, էլ ի՞նչ պետք է անեի: Նա, որ պատվեր չկատարեր, ինչո՞ւ պետք է խփեր»:

Իսրայելւանից նաև հետաքրքրվեցինք՝ արդյոք չի՞ կասկածում, որ քաղաքապետի թեկնածուներից մեկը կարող է դա պատվիրած լինել: Ի պատասխան մեր հարցիս՝ նա ասաց, որ չի կարծում, թե թեկնածուներից որևէ մեկն է պատվիրել. «Թեկնածուներից 3-ն էլ ինձ համար երեխա են՝ այդ Էդվինն էլ, Պալաչն էլ, իսկ այդ Վահագնի ապ ու պապերը չեն կարող ինծ 5 մետրից մոտ գալ, բայց նրա կողքին կանգնած է թիկնազորը, ու մեկը, կարող է՝ նրան շոյելու համար, արել է»»,–գրում է թերթը։
