82 տարեկան հասակում մահացել Է ԱՄՆ-ի Սենատում դեմոկրատների նախկին առաջնորդ Հարրի Ռիդը, որն այդ պաշտոնն զբաղեցրել Է 2005-ից մինչեւ 2017 թվականը: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, դեկտեմբերի 28-ին այդ մասին հայտնել Է ABC հեռուստաալիքը՝ վկայակոչելով քաղաքական գործչի կնոջը:
Հեռուստաալիքի տեղեկատվությամբ՝ Ռիդի մահվան պատճառ Է դարձել ենթաստամոքսային գեղձի քաղցկեղը, որի դեմ քաղաքական գործիչը պայքարել Է չորս տարվա ընթացքում: Ռիդը ծնվել Է 1939 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 2-ին Սյորչլայթ քաղաքում (Նեւադայի նահանգ):
1970 թվականին նա հաղթել Է Նեւադայում կայացած նահանգապետային ընտրություններում՝ դառնալով ամենաերիտասարդ փոխնահանգապետը նահանգի ամբողջ պատմության ընթացքում: Այդ պաշտոնում նա մնացել Է մինչեւ 1974 թվականը: 1982 թվականին նա ընտրվել Է ԱՄՆ-ի Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատում, եւս 4 տարի անց դարձել Է սենատոր Նեւադայից: 1999 թվականից Ռիդը Սենատում կատարել Է դեմոկրատների առաջնորդի տեղակալի պարտականությունները, իսկ 2005 թվականին միաձայն ընտրվել Է նրանց առաջնորդ: Ռիդն այդ պաշտոնում մնացել Է մինչեւ 2017 թվականը, նախքան քաղաքականությունից հեռանալը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
