POLITICSԱղքատ երկրները դեկտեմբերին հրաժարվել են COVID-19-ի դեմ COVAX գլոբալ ծրագրով տրամադրվող պատվաստանյութերի ավելի քան 100 միլիոն չափաբաժնից՝ հիմնականում դրանց պիտանելիության կարճ ժամկետի պատճառով, ասել է ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի ներկայացուցիչը, հաղորդում է Reuters-ը:
«Միայն դեկտեմբերին մերժվել է ավելի քան 100 միլիոն պատվաստանյութ»,- Եվրախորհրդարանի պատգամավորներին ասել է ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի մատակարարման գծով տնօրեն Էտլեւա Կադիլին։ Նրա խոսքով, մերժման հիմնական պատճառ է դարձել պիտանելիության կարճ ժամկետով չափաբաժինների մատակարարումը։
Կադիլիի խոսքով՝ առավել աղքատ երկրները նույնպես ստիպված են եղել հրաժարվել մատակարարումներից՝ պահեստային տարածքների, այդ թվում՝ պատվաստանյութերի համար սառնարանների բացակայության պատճառով:
Ստացած պատվաստանյութերի մատակարարման եւ օգտագործման վերաբերյալ ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի տվյալները ցույց են տալիս, որ առաքված 681 միլիոն չափաբաժինը ներկայումս չի օգտագործվում աշխարհի մոտ 90 առավել աղքատ երկրներում: Մոտ 30 առավել աղքատ երկրներ, ներառյալ այնպիսի խոշոր պետություններ, ինչպիսիք են Կոնգոյի Դեմոկրատական Հանրապետությունը եւ Նիգերիան, մինչ այժմ ստացված չափաբաժինների կեսն էլ չեն օգտագործել:
ԱՀԿ-ի տվյալներով՝ հունվարի դրությամբ առավել հարուստ երկրների բնակչության 67%-ն ամբողջությամբ պատվաստված է, մինչդեռ աղքատ երկրների բնակչության միայն 8%-ն է ստացել իր առաջին չափաբաժինը։
