ԱՄՆ Հետաքննությունների դաշնային բյուրոն (FBI) խուզարկել է դեմոկրատ կոնգրեսական Հենրի Կուելարի՝ Տեխաս նահանգում գտնվող բնակարանը դաշնային լայնածավալ հետաքննության մի գործով, որի հետքերը տանում են դեպի Ադրբեջան և կապված են նաև ամերիկացի որոշ գործարարների հետ: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ այդ մասին հայտնում է ամերիկյան ABC News-ը՝ հղում անելով իր աղբյուրներին:

Ըստ ABC News-ի՝ գործը հետաքննում է Վաշինգտոնի բարձրաստիճան դատախազը, բայց պարզ չէ՝ արդյոք հենց Կուելարն է Ադրբեջանի և ամերիկացի գործարար շրջանակների հետ առնչվող դաշնային հետաքննության հիմնական թիրախը:

Ամեն դեպքում, այն բանից հետո, երբ ՀԴԲ գործակալները խուզարկել են կոնգրեսականի՝ Լարեդո քաղաքում գտնվող բնակարանը, նրա օգնականը հայտարարել է, որ կոնգրեսականը «լիարժեքորեն կհամագործակցի ցանկացած հետաքննության շրջանակում»:

«Նա ուզում է համոզված լինել, որ կապահովվի արդարադատությունը և օրինականությունը», - ասել է Կուելարի օգնականը:

Ամերիկյան լրատվական հեռուստաալիքը նաև հիշեցրել է, որ Տեխասի 28-րդ ընտրատարածքից Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամ ընտրված Կուելարը, որը Կոնգրեսում է 2005 թվականից, եղել է Կոնգրեսի Ադրբեջանի հարցերի հանձնախմբի համանախագահը: Նա բազմիցս հանդիպել է ադրբեջանցի պաշտոնյաների, այդ թվում՝ ԱՄՆ-ում Ադրբեջանի դեսպան Էլին Սուլեյմանովի հետ:

Իսկ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի հանձնախումբը այս դեպքի առնչությամբ Ֆեյսբուքում գրել է, որ Վաշինգտոնում Ադրբեջանի երկարամյա դեսպան Սուլեյմանովը ՀԴԲ գործակալների խուզարկությունից և ադրբեջանական կոռուպցիոն սխեմաների վերաբերյալ դաշնային խոշոր քրեական հետաքննությունից «մեկ քայլ առաջ» լքել է քաղաքը: Ըստ Վաշինգտոնի Հայ Դատի գրասենյակի՝ Նահանգներում Ադրբեջանի կոռուպցիոն սխեմաների վերաբերյալ տեղեկությունը վաղուց «բաց գաղտնիք» է եղել վաշինգտոնյան շրջանակներում:
