ՍՂՆԱԽ, գյուղ է Արցախի Ասկերանի շրջանում, որը Նիկոլի և նրան կցված խունտայի շնորհիվ, ներկայումս ժամանակավորապես գտնվում է Ադրբեջանի «զինված ուժերի» վերահսկողության ներքո։
 
«Սղնախ» բառացի նշանակում է «ամրություն», կամ որ նույնն է՝ «ապահով վայր» կամ «ապաստարան»։ Ի դեպ՝ քչերին է հայտնի, որ հենց Սղնախ գյուղի անունից է առաջացել ներկայիս Վրաստանի Կախեթի մարզի Սիղնաղի (Սղնախ) քաղաքի անվանումը։
 
Գյուղը գտնվում է Արցախի կենտրոնական հատվածում, շրջկենտրոնից 35 կմ հեռավորության վրա, իսկ մայրաքաղաք Ստեփանակերտից՝ 19 կմ հեռավորության վրա։ Համայնքը լեռնային է, ունի 821,4 հա տարածք, որոնցից 261,43 հա-ը անտառային է։ Համայնքի սահմանային գոտով հոսում է Վարանդա գետի վտակը։
 
Սղնախում կան մի շարք պատմամշակութային հուշարձաններ, որոնցից երեքը հաշվառված էին պետության կողմից։ Խոսքը «Խաչին տակ» գյուղատեղիի, «Շամիրեն կարան» քարանձավի և «Խաչին տակ» խաչքարի (14-15 դդ․) մասին է։
Սղնախում գտնվում է նաև Սուրբ Աստվածածին եկեղեցին, հին գերեզմանատուն, շուրջ 10 աղբյուրներ՝ «Գյուղի աղբյուր», «Մկրտիչի», «Պեց», «Նավաթխան», «Քշմըրոր», «Մարանդի», «Պտրուսանց», «Ճոթի», «Ռուսեն», «Փըրվըզար»։
 
«Խաչին տակ» գյուղատեղին թվագրվում է 13-18 դարերով։ Համանուն խաչքարը գտնվում է գյուղատեղիում և թվագրվում է 14-15 դարերով։ «Շամիրեն կարան» քարանձավը թվագրվում է վաղ միջնադարով (հստակ թիվ հայտնի չէ)։ Սուրբ Աստվածածին եկեղեցին կառուցվել է 19-րդ դարում։ Հավելենք, որ նույն դարով է թվագրվում նաև գերեզմանոցը։ Գյուղի տարածքում է գտնվում նաև Կուկուին պյուն (Կկվի բույն) կոչվող եկեղեցին, որը կոչվում է նաև Մզամանց եղցի, ինչպես նաև Պուտ քար, Խնձորի խաչ, Բեդի օջախ սրբավայրերը, իսկ հարավարևելյան մասում կա մեծ քարանձավ։
 
Մինչ օկուպացիան՝ գյուղում գործում էր միջնակարգ դպրոց, որտեղ 2015 թվականի դրությամբ հաճախում էր 32 աշակերտ։ Առկա էր մշակույթի տուն, բուժկետ և գյուղապետարան։ Համայնքային հիմնական ճանապարհները ասֆալտապատ էին, գրունտային և խճապատ։ Կոմունիկացիաների տեսակետից գյուղը զարգացած էր․ հասանելի էր հեռուստատեսությունը, ռադիոն, համացանցը։ Սղնախն ապահովված էր էլեկտրաէներգիայով, գազամատակարարմամբ և ջրամատակարարմամբ։
 
Համայնքի բնակչության թվաքանակը 2015 թվականի դրությամբ 292 մարդ էր (59 տնտեսություն)։ Բնակչությունը հիմնականում զբաղվում էր գյուղատնտեսությամբ՝ անասնապահությամբ և հողագործությամբ։ Բնակավայրի տարածքի 491,38 հա-ը գյուղատնտեսական նշանակության հողեր են։
