Այս թեմայի մասին զրուցել ենք քաղաքագետ Ռոբերտ Ղևոնդյանի հետ։

Հարցին, թե տեղի ունեցողը կարո՞ղ է լայնածավալ ռազմական գործողությունների հիմք հանդիսանալ` քաղաքագետն ասաց. «Ճնշումները շարունակվում են թե՛ Ռուսաստանի, թե՛ Արևմուտքի կողմից: Լուգանսկի և Դոնեցկի ղեկավարների հայտարարած մոբիլիզացիան ճնշման միջոցներից մեկն է, որը փորձում է կիրառել Ռուսաստանը: Իհարկե, բացառված չէ, որ դա կարող է տանել լայնածավալ բախումների, նույնիսկ բավականին հավանական է, որ այդպես էլ կլինի: Այնուամենայնիվ, դեռևս չեն անցել հետդարձի բացառման կետը, ու եթե կողմերից մեկը հետ կանգնի իր պահանջներից, բախումներ չեն լինի, բայց զարգացումներն այլ կերպ են ընթանում»:

Հարցին, թե ինչո՞ւ խախտվեց համեմատաբար կայուն վիճակը քաղաքագետն ասաց. «Պատճառը Ռուսաստանի կողմից ճնշման ավելացման փորձն է, Ռուսաստանը փորձում է շանտաժի միջոցով հասնել իր նպատակներին»:

Անդրադառնալով հարցին, թե արդյո՞ք Ռուսաստանին կհաջողվի՞ հասնել իր նպատակին` Ռոբերտ Ղևոնդյանն ասաց. « Շատ բարդ է ասել. Ռուսաստանի նպատակը Ուկրաինայի ժողովրդի փոխարեն որոշում կայացնելու իրավունքի ձեռքբերումն է, ինչպես էր Խորհրդային Միության ժամանակ: Իսկ Արևմուտքն ասում է, որ Ուկրաինայի ժողովուրդն ինքը պետք է որոշի, թե զարգացման ինչպիսի մոդել են ընտրում, իսկ Ռուսաստանը կարծում է, որ Ուկրաինայի էլիտան չի արտահայտում այն մոտեցումը, որ պետք է Ուկրաինային, ու Ռուսաստանի ղեկավարությունը պետք է որոշի, թե Ուկրաինան զարգացման ինչպիսի մոդելով պետք է առաջ շարժվի: Ենթադրելի է, որ Ուկրաինայի ժողովուրդն ավելի հակված է պաշտպանելու արևմտյան տեսակետը, որովհետև ընտրելու հնարավորություն ունի, հետևաբար դժվար թե Ռուսաստանը կարողանա առանց պատերազմի իր նպատակներին հասնել»:
