Թուրքիայի քրդամետ Ժողովուրդների դեմոկրատական կուսակցությանից ընտրված հայ պատգամավոր Գարո Փայլանը թուրքական մեջլիսի ամբիոնից պահանջել է կարևորել ու չմոռանալ հանրապետության տարածքում բնակվող հնագույն ժողովուրդների՝ քրիստոնյաների տոնը՝ Սուրբ ծնունդը: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին տեղեկացնում է թուրքական ensonhaber.com-ը:
«Այսօր քրիստոնեական ընտանիքի Սուրբ ծնունդն է, սակայն մեր մեջլիսն այն չի շնորհավորել: Կար ժամանակ, երբ այս հողերում քրիստոնյաները շատ էին, բնակչության 40 տոկոսն էին կազմում: Այսօր մենք հազարից մեկն ենք: Սակայն այդ ամենը մեր ցանկությամբ չեղավ, մենք չհեռացանք, մեզ պակասեցրին այս հողերից: Սակայն անգամ եթե քիչ էլ լինենք, մեկն էլ լինենք, մեջլիսը պետք է կարևորություն տա Սուրբ ծնունդին: 1915 թվականից առաջ այս հողերում Սուրբ ծնունդը կարևոր տոն էր համարվում: Այդ օրերին արձակուրդ էր հայտարարվում, ինչպես այժմ մուսուլմանական տոների ժամանակ: Այս տեսանկյունից անհրաժեշտ է կարևորել նաև նրանց տոնը, ովքեր այժմ այս հողերում փոքրաթիվ են մնացել»,- ասել է Գարոն:
