Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը դեկտեմբերի 25-ին աշխարհի բոլոր կաթոլիկներին շնորհավորել Է Քրիստոսի Ծննդյան տոնի առթիվ՝ հանդես գալով ՍուրբԾննդյան Urbi et Orbi («Քաղաքին եւ աշխարհին») ավանդական ուղերձով եւ օրհնությամբ: Ուղիղ կեսօրին (Երեւանի ժամանակով ժամը 15:00-ին) քահանայապետը հայտնվել Է Վատիկանի Սուրբ Պետրոսի տաճարի պատշգամբում եւ, դիմելով հազարավոր հավատա ցյալներին, որոնք լցրել Էին հսկայական հրապարակը, ասել Է. «Թանկագին եղբայրներ ու քույրեր, շնորհավոր Սուրբ Ծնունդ: Քրիստոսը ծնվեց մեզ համար»:

Ֆրանցիսկոսը հայտարարել Է, որ Սուրբ Ծնունդը «մեծ ուրախության» օր Է ամբողջ ժողովրդի համար: Պապը հիշեցրել Է, թե այնտեղ, որտեղ ծնվեց տերը, ծնվեց հույսն ու խաղաղությունը, իսկ այնտեղ, որտեղ ծնվեց խաղաղությունը, այլեւս տեղ չկա ատելության ու պատերազմի համար: Այդ կապակցությամբ Հռոմի կաթոլիկ եղեկեցու ղեկավարը հույս Է հայտնել, որ իսրայելացիներն ու պաղեստինցիները «կարող են վերսկսել ուղղակի երկխոսությունը եւ համաձայնության գալ»:

«Տիրոջից խնդրենք, որ ՄԱԿ-ում ձեռք բերված համաձայնագիրը հնարավորինս շուտ օգնի՝ շտկելու ծանրագույն հումանիտար իրադրությունը Սիրիայում: Նաեւ շատ կարեւոր Է, որ Լիբիայի վերաբերյալ համաձայնագիրը աջակցություն ստանա բոլորի կողմից, որպեսզի հաղթահարվեն այդ երկրին հետապնդող լուրջ տարաձայնություններն ու բռնությունները»,-ասել Է Ֆրանցիսկոսը:

Հռոմի պապը աղոթել Է նաեւ ահաբեկչության հրեշավոր գործողությունների զոհերի համար, որոնք վերջերս կատարվեցին Եգիպտոսի երկնքում, Բեյրութում, Փարիզում, Բամակոյում ու Թունիսում:

«Սուրբ Ծնունդ, իրական խաղաղություն բեր նաեւ Ուկրաինային: Աջակցիր նրանց, ովքեր տուժում են հակամարտության հետեւանքներից, եւ ոգեշնչիր կնքված համաձայնագրերը կատարելու ցանկությամբ, որպեսզի վերականգնվի հաշտությունը երկրում»,-հավելել Է նա:

Բացի, այդ, Հռոմի պապը հավաքվածներին հիշեցրել Է, որ աշխարհում ապրում են բազմաթիվ տղամարդիկ ու կանայք, որոնք տառապում են ցրտից ու աղքատությունից եւ աղոթել Է առավել խոցելիների ու թույլերի համար:

Ելույթի ավարտին Ֆրանցիսկոսը աղոթել Է փախստականների համար, որոնք փախչում են պատերազմից, եւ շնորհակալություն Է հայտնել նրանց, ովքեր օժանդակում են միգրանտների ու փախստականների տեղավորմանը, օգնելով նրանց՝ «արժանավայել ապագա կառուցել իրենց ու իրենց հարազատների համար», հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
