Այս մասին մարտի 12-ին՝ գիշերը հրապարակած իր տեսաուղերձում հայտնել է Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին։
«12 հազար։ Վիրավոր զավթիչների թիվը բազմապատիկ ավելի է։ Նրանցից ոչ մեկին այստեղ չենք հրավիրել։
Եվ մենք զավթիչներից յուրաքանչյուրին կրկին ասում ենք՝ դուք դեռ կարող եք փրկել ձեզ: Ցանկացած ժամանակ: Պարզապես վայր դրեք ձեր զենքերը և թողեք մեր հողն ու գնացեք ձեր տուն:
Գերեվարված զավթիչների թիվն արդեն հասել է այն աստիճանի, որ այս հարցը չի կարելի թողնել այն կառույցներին, որոնք մենք ունեինք մինչ պատերազմը։ Ուստի այսօր Ուկրաինայի նախարարների կաբինետը ստեղծել է ռազմագերիների հարցերով զբաղվող համակարգող շտաբ։
Հազարավոր զինվորներ, ովքեր գերի են ընկել կամ հանձնվել, մեր պետությունից ստանում են միջազգային կոնվենցիաներով պահանջվող վերաբերմունքը։ Բայց դրանք այնքան շատ են, որ մեզ անհրաժեշտ է հատուկ կառույց, որը կզբաղվի հարակից բոլոր հարցերով։
Ես ուզում եմ բոլոր ռուս մայրերին նորից ասել՝ հատկապես ժամկետային զինծառայողների մայրերին․ Ձեր երեխաներին օտար երկիր պատերազմի մի ուղարկեք։ Մի հավատացեք այն խոստումներին, որ նրանց կուղարկեն պարզապես ինչ-որ տեղ զորավարժությունների կամ պարզապես ինչ-որ տեղ՝ ոչ մարտական պայմաններում։
Ստուգեք, թե որտեղ է ձեր որդին: Եվ եթե դուք նույնիսկ նվազագույն կասկած ունեք, որ ձեր որդուն կարող են ուղարկել Ուկրաինայի դեմ կռվելու, արագ գործեք։ Ձեր որդուն մահվան կամ գերության մի տվեք։
Ուկրաինան երբեք չի ցանկացել այս հրեշավոր պատերազմը. նա դա չի ուզում, բայց կպաշտպանի այնքան, որքան անհրաժեշտ է»,-նշել է Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին:
