Մինի մրցաշարի C խմբի կիսաեզրափակիչ խաղում Իտալիայի հավաքականը պարտվել է Հյուսիսային Մակեդոնիայի ընտրանուն՝ աշխարհի 2022 թվականի առաջնության ուղեգիր նվաճելու համար։
Իտալական Պալերմոյում կայացած հանդիպումն ավարտվել է հյուրերի հաղթանակով՝ 1։0 հաշվով։ Երկրորդ խաղակեսի փոխհատուցմամբ երկրորդ րոպեին գնդակը խփել է Ալեքսանդր Տրայկովսկին։
Իտալիայի հավաքականն անցյալ տարվա հուլիսին երկրորդ անգամ դարձավ Եվրոպայի չեմպիոն, իտալացիները չորս անգամ հաղթել են աշխարհի առաջնությունում։ Սակայն թիմը բաց կթողնի երկրորդ անընդմեջ աշխարհի առաջնությունը, 2018 թվականին իտալացիները չկարողացան նվաճել Ռուսաստանում կայանալիք աշխարհի առաջնության ուղեգիր։
C ուղու ընտրական մրցաշարի եզրափակչում Հյուսիսային Մակեդոնիայի հավաքականը մարտի 29-ին Պորտուում կհանդիպի Պորտուգալիայի ընտրանու հետ, որը հաղթել է Թուրքիայի ընտրանուն (3:1):
