«Հարավային Կովկաս. զարգացում եւ համագործակցություն» միջազգային համաժողովի մասնակիցների հետ հանդիպմանը Իլհամ Ալիևը հայտնել է, որ ելնելով Ադրբեջանի առաջարկից՝ Հայաստանը վերջապես համաձայնել է ստեղծել համատեղ աշխատանքային խմբեր Ադրբեջանի հետ, սկսելու՝ սահմանի սահմանազատման գործընթացը։

«Սա կարևոր նշան է, այն ցուցանիշը, որ հիմա՝ ղարաբաղյան երկրորդ պատերազմից մեկուկես տարի անց, Հայաստանի ղեկավարությունը և, հուսով եմ, բնակչությունը հասկանում են խաղաղության անհրաժեշտությունը։ Եվ եթե խաղաղության պայմանագիր կնքվի, և այդ հիմնարար սկզբունքները հայտնի լինեն, ապա Կովկասում խաղաղությունը կլինի կայուն։ Սա այն է, ինչ մենք ուզում ենք: Այն, ինչ մենք ցույց ենք տալիս և Հայտարարում, Կովկասում խաղաղության հաստատման մեր կամքի վառ օրինակն է»,- ասել է պետության ղեկավարը։

Ինչպես նաև Ալիևը կոչ է արել Երևանի, որ բարելավի հարաբերությունները Բաքվի և Անկարայի հետ։

Հայաստանը պետք է հրաժարվի Ադրբեջանի և Թուրքիայի նկատմամբ տարածքային պահանջներից, հայտարարել է Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը։

«Հայաստանը պետք է հասկանա, որ տարածաշրջանում «կղզիացած» ռեժիմում մեկուսացված մնալն անհնար է»։

Նախագահը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը նախկինում մերժել է տարբեր մակարդակներով եռակողմ բանակցություններ վարելու մի քանի առաջարկներ, մասնավորապես՝ արտգործնախարարների, տարբեր մասնագետների, ինչպես նաև քաղաքացիական հասարակությունների ձևաչափով։
