ՀՀ երրորդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի ուղերձ է հղել Հանրապետության տոնի առթիվ:
Ուղերձում ասվում է. «Շնորհավորում եմ Հայաստանի, Արցախի և սփյուռքի մեր բոլոր այն հայրենակիցներին, որոնց համար թանկ ու ամեն ինչից վեր են Հայրենիքի ազատությունն ու անկախությունը, հանուն անկախ պետականության իրենց կյանքը զոհաբերած մեր քաջակորով նախնիների անմահ հիշատակը:
Շնորհավորում եմ բոլոր նրանց, ում համար նվիրական են մեր ազգային հոգևոր, մշակութային արժեքները, մեր լեզուն ու պատմությունը, բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր այսօր էլ՝ մայիսյան հերոսամարտերից ավելի քան մեկ դար անց, հավատարիմ են այդ արժեքները պաշտպանելու և սերունդներին փոխանցելու հանձնառությանը:
1918 թվականի մայիսյան այս օրը հայ ժողովրդի նվիրյալ զավակները ազգային գիտակցության և պատմական պատասխանատվության բարձր մակարդակով ու անձնազոհ խիզախությամբ նվաճեցին սեփական Հայրենիքում անկախ և ազատ ապրելու իրավունքը:
Փա՛ռք մայիսյան հերոսամարտերն առաջնորդած և փայլուն հաղթանակներ տարած հայ զինվորներին, զորահրամանատարներին ու ռազմական գործիչներին, հոգևորականներին ու բազում այն երախտավորներին, որոնք նախընտրեցին պատվով ապրելը, քան օտարին հպատակվելը:
Խոնարհում մեր հերոս նախնիների հիշատակին:
Հուսահատության և բնաջնջման եզրին կանգնած մեր ժողովրդի համար մայիսյան հաղթանակները ապրելու, արարելու և համազգային նպատակները կյանքի կոչելու նոր հնարավորություն դարձան:
Ցավոք, այսօր մեր ժողովուրդը կրկին նույն ընտրության առջև է՝ կյանքի գնով պաշտպանե՞լ հող հայրենին, թշնամու ամենօրյա նշանառության տակ գտնվող իր օջախն ու ավերման, պղծման վտանգի տակ հայտնված հոգևոր, մշակութային կոթողները, իր զավակների ապագան, թե՞ ծնկի գալ թշնամու առջև՝ հավատալով խաղաղության դարաշրջան բացելու նրա և հայաստանյան իր սպասարկուների կեղծ ու վտանգավոր հավաստիացումներին:
Մեր ժողովրդի արժանավոր ու պատվախնդիր զավակները կատարել են իրենց ընտրությունը, և ես մաղթում եմ նրանց հաջողություն ներքին ու արտաքին թշնամու դեմ աննահանջ պայքարի ազգանվեր առաքելության ճանապարհին:
Հավերժ փա´ռք բոլոր այն հայորդիներին, ովքեր կերտեցին Մայիսի 28-ը:
Փա´ռք ու պատի´վ Հայրենիքի բոլոր այն նվիրյալ զավակներին, ովքեր նոր հաղթանակներով կերտելու են հզոր, արժանապատիվ, ազատ ու անկախ Հայրենիքի վաղվա օրը:
