ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Ենս Ստոլտենբերգը խոստացել է զգալիորեն մեծացնել մերձբալթյան երկրների պաշտպանունակությունը և ասել, որ Ռուսաստանին չի հաջողվի գրավել Տալլինը, հակառակ Էստոնիայի մտավախություններին, գրում է Financial Times-ը։

Ըստ Ստոլտենբերգի՝ Ռուսաստանը չի կարողանա գրավել Էստոնիայի մայրաքաղաք Տալլինը, «այնպես, ինչպես պատերազմի ժամանակ չկարողացավ գրավել Հյուսիսային Նորվեգիայի Կիրկենես քաղաքը կամ Արևմտյան Բեռլինը»։

ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարն ասել է, որ նոր ռազմական պլանը, որը կհամաձայնեցվի դաշինքի ղեկավարների ամենամյա գագաթնաժողովում այս շաբաթ, կտրուկ կբարելավի նրա արևելյան թևի պաշտպանությունը:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Էստոնիայի վարչապետ Կայա Կալլասը պնդել էր, որ ներկայիս դոկտրինի համաձայն, մերձբալթյան երկրները «կջնջվեն քարտեզից» Ռուսաստանի հարձակման դեպքում, նախքան ՆԱՏՕ-ն կփորձի հակահարված տալ դրանք ազատագրելու համար:

«Ես հասկանում եմ, որ նա (Կայա Կալլասը - խմբ.) ցանկանում է ՆԱՏՕ-ի ավելի մեծ ներկայություն, և ես կարող եմ խոստանալ նրան դա»,- ասել է Ստոլտենբերգը։

Նա հավելել է, որ դաշինքը անհրաժեշտության դեպքում կկարողանա պաշտպանել մերձբալթյան երկրները։

«Մենք երբեք չենք բացահայտում օպերատիվ պլանների մանրամասները: Բայց ես կարող եմ ձեզ վստահեցնել, որ տասնամյակներ շարունակ մենք կարողացել ենք պաշտպանել Ռուսաստանին սահմանակից երկրները` հարմարեցնելով մեր ներկայությունը սպառնալիքների գնահատման լույսի ներքո»,- ասել է գլխավոր քարտուղարը` նշելով, որ դաշինքը դա արել է նախկինում և նորից կանի:

Հիշեցնենք, որ մեկ շաբաթ առաջ Տալլինում հայտարարել են, որ Ռուսաստանի Դաշնությունը հրթիռային հարվածների իմիտացիա է անում Էստոնիայի վրա։
