Այսօր 14-րդ Դալայ Լամա Տենզին Գյացոն դառնում է 87 տարեկան. երկուսուկես տարվա կորոնավիրուսային պանդեմիայից հետո նա դուրս է եկել կարանտինից և մոտ օրերս կլինի Հնդկաստանի հյուսիսում գտնվող Դհարամսալա քաղաքում, որտեղ նրա հիմնական նստավայրն է։ Տաճար կայցելեն ուխտավորներ՝ աշխարհի տարբեր ծայրերից, այդ թվում՝ Ռուսաստանից։ Մոսկվայում նրա ծննդյան օրը հանդիսավոր կերպով կնշվի Կինոյի տանը։

Դալայ Լաման, որպես կանոն, չի նշում իր ծննդյան տարեդարձը՝ «յուրաքանչյուր գալիք օր համարելով իր ծննդյան օրը»։  Սակայն նա միշտ իր երախտագիտությունն է հայտնում այն ​​մարդկանց, ովքեր այս օրը հիշում են իրեն և ջերմորեն շնորհավորում: Նա կոչ է անում բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր նշում են իր ծննդյան օրը, իրենց սրտերում պահել կարեկցանքի (կարունա) և ոչ բռնության (ահիմսա) իդեալները:
