Այսօր՝ հուլիսի 9-ին, մեկնարկում է Ավետիք Չալաբյանի կալանքը երկարաձգելու հարցի քննությունը։
Դատավարության ընթացքում ելույթ ունեցավ նաև Ավետիք Չալաբյանը։ «Վերաորակումը, որը պետք է տեղի ունենա, բոլորովին տեխնիկական հարց չէ։ Այն հոդվածը, որը կա այսօրվա գործող քրեական օրենսգրքում, դա կրկնություն չէ նախորդ քրեական օրենսգրքի։ Վարույթ իրականացնող մարմինը բավարար չափով ջանասիրություն չի ցուցաբերել՝ նույնիսկ հասկանալու այդ հոդվածների էությունը։ Նա վերցրել է նույն մեղադրական եզրակացությունը, մի հոդվածը փոխել է մյուսով, բայց չի հասկացել, որ այս հոդվածի կոնցեստում մեղադրական եզրակացությունը պետք է փոխվի նաև։
Ուստի ես կասեմ հետևյալը․ այս միջնորդությունը, որը ներկայացվել է, ի սկզբանե եղել է ապօրինի, դուք, ըստ էության, հնարավորոթյուն եք տվել դա սղագրելու, բայց նույնիսկ սղագրելուց հետո դա շարունակում է մեր պատկերացմամբ ապօրինի մնալ, ուստի նրա միակ հնարավորությունը կլիներ մերժելը, կամ եթե մերժում տեղի չի ունեցել, կարծում եմ, որ ամենաադեկվատ, իրավաչափ լուծումը հիմա կլինի ինքնաբացարկը», - ասաց Չալաբյանը։
