ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը մտադիր է մինչեւ հուլիսի վերջ զրուցել չինացի գործընկեր Սի Ծինպինի հետ, հայտնում է Reuters-ը։

«Կարծում եմ, որ առաջիկա 10 օրվա ընթացքում ես կխոսեմ նախագահ Սիի հետ»,- ասել է Բայդենը լրագրողներին:

Զրույցը, եթե այն կայանա, տեղի կունենա առանցքային պահին՝ հաշվի առնելով Թայվանի շուրջ ստեղծված լարվածությունը եւ այն, որ Բայդենի վարչակազմը կշռադատում է Չինաստանից ապրանքների ներմուծման մաքսատուրքերի իջեցումը, որպեսզի օգնի մեղմել գնաճային ճնշումն  ԱՄՆ տնտեսության վրա:

ԱՄՆ-ն Չինաստանն իր հիմնական ռազմավարական մրցակիցն է համարում եւ ասում է, որ բարձր մակարդակի ներգրավվածությունն էական է բարդ հարաբերությունների կայունության պահպանման եւ չկանխամտածված կոնֆլիկտի կանխման համար: Անցյալ ամիս Վաշինգտոնը դրդեց ՆԱՏՕ-ին ռազմավարական փաստաթուղթ ընդունել, որում Չինաստանը որպես անվտանգությանը սպառնալիք է որակվում:

Լրագրողների առջեւ իր եւլույթում Բայդենը կարծես թե կասկածի տակ է դրել Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի խոսնակ Նենսի Փելոսիի՝ հաջորդ ամիս Թայվան այցելելու ծրագրերը:

«Կարծում եմ, որ զինվորականները դա վատ գաղափար են համարում»,- ասել է Բայդենը։

Պեկինը հայտարարել է, որ կպատասխանի «խիստ միջոցներով», եթե Փելոսին այցելի կղզի, եւ այդ այցը «լրջորեն կխաթարի Չինաստանի ինքնիշխանությունն ու տարածքային ամբողջականությունը»:
