Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնը ստորագրել է Շվեդիայի և Ֆինլանդիայի՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ին միանալու մասին փաստաթղթերը։ Այս մասին հայտնի է դարձել շաբաթ օրը՝ օգոստոսի 13-ին, փոխանցում է «Իզվեստիա»-ն:

«Ֆինլանդիայի և Շվեդիայի՝ երկու եվրոպացի գործընկերների այս ինքնիշխան ընտրությունը կուժեղացնի նրանց անվտանգությունը՝ ի դեմս նրանց անմիջական հարևանության ներկայիս սպառնալիքի: Եվ դա զգալի ներդրում կունենա՝ հաշվի առնելով այս երկու գործընկերների հնարավորությունները, հավաքական դիրքորոշման և ընդհանուր եվրոպական անվտանգության գործում»,- մեջբերում է Le Figaro թերթը Ելիսեյան պալատի հայտարարությունը։

Ֆրանսիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Քեթրին Կոլոննան օգոստոսի 2-ին Ֆրանսիայի խորհրդարանի կողմից վավերացման արձանագրությունների ընդունման ժամանակ ասել է, որ երկու երկրներն էլ պետք է վավերացնեն կազմակերպության բոլոր երեսուն անդամ պետությունները, որպեսզի պաշտպանություն ստանան ՆԱՏՕ-ի կանոնադրության 5-րդ հոդվածով, եթե դա տեղի ունենա:

Օգոստոսի 9-ին ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը ստորագրել է Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքին Շվեդիայի և Ֆինլանդիայի միանալու արձանագրությունները։ Նրա կարծիքով՝ այս քայլը Եվրոպային ու աշխարհին ավելի ապահով կդարձնի։

Հուլիսի 1-ին Գերմանիայում մեկնարկել է Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքին երկու երկրների անդամակցության վավերացման գործընթացը։

ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ երկրները հունիսի 29-ին պաշտոնապես հրավիրել են Ֆինլանդիային և Շվեդիային և պայմանավորվել ստորագրել համապատասխան արձանագրությունները։

Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքին միանալու հայտեր Ֆինլանդիան և Շվեդիան ներկայացվել են մայիսի 18-ին։ Միաժամանակ ՌԴ ԱԳՆ-ն քննադատաբար է արձագանքել այս որոշմանը։ Գերատեսչությունում նշել են, որ նման գործողությունները չեն ապահովի այդ երկրներին այն անվտանգությունը, որի վրա հույսը դնում են։

Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը մայիսի 16-ին Հավաքական անվտանգության պայմանագրի կազմակերպության հոբելյանական գագաթնաժողովի ժամանակ նշել է, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ի ընդլայնումն արհեստական ​​է։
