Ռուսաստանի արտաքին գործերի նախարարության պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Մարիա Զախարովան ասել է, որ Դոնեցկի և Լուգանսկի Ժողովրդական Հանրապետությունները, որպես ինքնիշխան և անկախ պետություններ, իրավունք ունեն ինքնուրույն որոշելու, թե ում հրավիրեն։ Դա վերաբերում է նաև ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիո Գուտերեշին։ Այս մասին դիվանագետն ասել է Sputnik ռադիոյի եթերում։
«Իհարկե հիմա ԼԺՀ-ն ու ԴԺՀ-ն դիմակայում են սպառնալիքին, նրանք դիմադրում են՝ մեր երկրի հետ միասին, որը օգնության հասավ նրանց խնդրանքով, բայց նրանք ինքնիշխան պետություններ են», - ասել է Զախարովան:
Ավելի վաղ հայտնի էր դարձել, որ ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիո Գուտերեշը օգոստոսի 18-ին կայցելի Լվով, որտեղ կհանդիպի Ուկրաինայի և Թուրքիայի նախագահներ Վոլոդիմիր Զելենսկու և Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հետ։
Օգոստոսի սկզբին ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարը հայտարարեց, որ Ուկրաինայում հակամարտող բոլոր կողմերը պետք է խուսափեն խաղաղ բնակչությանը վնասելուց՝ ներառյալ Դոնբասի խաղաղ բնակչության դեմ Petal հակահետևակային ականներ կիրառելուց։
