Միացյալ Նահանգները շարունակում է աշխատանքը՝ հանուն Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև համապարփակ և երկարաժամկետ խաղաղության հաստատման։ Այս մասին լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցում հայտարարել է պետդեպարտամենտի խոսնակ Նեդ Փրայսը։

Նա հիշեցրել է, որ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինկենը վերջերս շփումներ է ունեցել Հայաստանի վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի և Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևի հետ։ «Այդպիսով մենք մեր խորը մտահոգությունն ենք հայտնել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում և դրա շուրջ գրանցված վերջին մարտերի առնչությամբ, որոնց հետևանքով գրանցվեցին մարդկային զոհեր ու վիրավորներ։ Մենք կոչ արեցինք անհապաղ քայլեր ձեռնարկել՝ թուլացնելու լարվածությունը և խուսափելու կողմերի միջև հետագա էսկալացիաներից։ Լարվածության վերջին աճը, կարծում ենք, ընդգծեց Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության հետ կապված կամ դրանից բխող բոլոր մնացած հարցերը բանակցային, համապարփակ ու կայուն կերպով կարգավորելու անհրաժեշտությունը»,- նշել է Փրայսը՝ ընդգծելով, որ ԱՄՆ-ն շարունակում է հավատարիմ մնալ կողմերի հետ աշխատանքները շարունակելու իր հանձնառությանը։

«Մենք շարունակելու ենք դա անել ինչպես երկկողմ, այնպես էլ համախոհ գործընկերների հետ Եվրամիությունում, ինչպես նաև որպես ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ՝ օգնելու երկրներին գտնել երկարաժամկետ համապարփակ խաղաղություն»,- ասել է պետդեպի խոսնակը։

Փրայսի խոսքով՝ չնայած վերջին շաբաթների լարվածության աճին, այնուամենայնիվ, Միացյալ Նահանգները շարունակում է տեսնել, որ կա հնարավորություն։ «Մենք մշտապես ընդունել ենք, որ սա գծային գործընթաց չի լինելու։ Հավատացած ենք, որ շարունակական երկխոսության, ներգրավման՝ այդ թվում և ամենաբարձր մակարդակներով, շնորհիվ կկարողանանք անել հնարավոր ամեն բան՝ օգնելու առաջ տանել երկարաժամկետ համապարփակ խաղաղությունը»,- եզրափակել է Փրայսը։
