«Մեր կոնգրեսական պատվիրակությունը մեկնեց Հայաստան, որը կարևոր ճակատ է ժողովրդավարության և բռնապետության միջև պայքարում: Մայրաքաղաք Երևանում մեր շփումների ընթացքում փոխանցել ենք Հայաստանի ժողովրդավարությանը և անվտանգությանն աջակցության հզոր ուղերձ, հատկապես Հայաստանի դեմ Ադրբեջանի հարձակումից հետո։ Մեր այցը նախատեսված էր սեպտեմբերի 12-ի ռազմական գործողությունների մեկնարկից առաջ։

Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի հայկական հանձնախմբի անդամներ Ֆրենկ Փալոնը, Աննա Էշուն և Ջեքի Սփիըրը և ես մեր այցելությունը սկսեցինք` Ծիծեռնակաբերդի Հայոց ցեղասպանության հուշահամալիրում ծաղկեպսակ դնելով: Այնտեղ մենք աղոթեցինք Ցեղասպանության ժամանակ սպանված 1,5 միլիոն հայ տղամարդկանց, կանանց և երեխաների համար: Կոնգրեսը հավատարիմ է երաշխավորելու, որ Ցեղասպանության իրողությունը երբեք չի ջնջվի: Այդ իսկ պատճառով 2019 թվականին մենք ընդունեցինք օրինագիծ՝ պաշտոնապես ճանաչելու Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, որին նախագահ Բայդենն արձագանքեց անցյալ տարի իր կողմից պաշտոնական ճանաչմամբ: Արտոնություն էր Ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի կողմից դեսպան Հենրի Մորգենթաու մեդալով պարգեւի արժանանալու փաստը, որը ես ընդունեցի Կոնգրեսի անունից՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման և իրազեկման բարձրացման մեր աշխատանքի համար:

Մեր պատվիրակության համար պատիվ էր հանդիպել վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի և բարձրաստիճան այլ պաշտոնյաների, այդ թվում՝ Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Ալեն Սիմոնյանի և պաշտպանության նախարար Սուրեն Պապիկյանի հետ։ Այս շփումներն ապահովել են մտքերի փոխանակում Հայաստանում և տարածաշրջանում կայունության, խաղաղության և բարգավաճմանն ուղղված քաղաքականության և գործողությունների վերաբերյալ:

Մեր այցի համար կարևոր է, որ մեր պատվիրակությունն այնուհետև կլոր սեղան-հանդիպում ունեցավ քաղաքացիական հասարակության առաջնորդների հետ, որոնք արտահայտեցին ժողովրդի մտահոգություններն ու կարիքները այս դժվարին պահին և լույս սփռեցին Հայաստանի ժողովրդավարության և անվտանգության համար մղվող պայքարի վրա: Ինձ համար պատիվ էր դիմել այդ առաջնորդներին՝ ելույթ ունենալով Գաֆեսճյան արվեստի կենտրոնում, որը հայկական մշակույթի գոհարն է: Այստեղ ես Ամերիկայի նվիրվածության մասին հստակ ուղերձ փոխանցեցի Հայաստանին: Ավելի ուշ հանդիպեցինք Ազգային ժողովում ծառայող ընդդիմության առաջնորդների հետ։ Թեև ներքին քաղաքականության հետ կապված տարաձայնություններ կան, այդ առաջնորդների միջև հստակ համակարծություն կար, որ Ադրբեջանը պետք է անհապաղ դադարեցնի իր ագրեսիան։

Տեղեկացված և ոգեշնչված ստացած ընդունելությունից՝ մեր պատվիրակությունը վերադառնում է Վաշինգտոն հպարտ և պատրաստ` առաջ մղելու Կոնգրեսի երկարամյա հանձնառությունը ժողովրդավարական Հայաստանի և անվտանգ, խաղաղ կովկասյան տարածաշրջանի նկատմամբ», - ասվում է հայտարարությունում:
