ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը պատասխանել է Ադրբեջանի վերջին ագրեսիայի վերաբերյալ «Լուրերի» հարցերին:
«Ինչպե՞ս եք գնահատում Ադրբեջանի գործողությունները Հայաստանի ինքնիշխան տարածքի նկատմամբ» հարցին ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը նշել է. «Հակամարտությունը չի կարող ռազմական լուծում ունենալ, իսկ ուժի կիրառումը անընդունելի է։ Մենք ցավում ենք մարդկային կորուստների համար, այդ թվում՝ Հայաստանի տարածքում տեղ գտած քաղաքացիական անձանց բազմաթիվ կորուստների համար։ Ուրախ ենք, որ Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի հետ բարձր մակարդակներում մեր ներգրավվածությունն օգնեց կողմերին հաստատել հրադադար, և մենք շարունակում ենք մնալ ներգրավված և խրախուսում ենք այն աշխատանքը, որ անհրաժեշտ է տևական խաղաղության հասնելու համար»։
«Լուրերը» հետաքրքրվել է, թե ԱՄՆ դիվանագիտական առաքելությունն ի՞նչ դիրքորոշում ունի Հայաստանի ինքնիշխան տարածքում ապօրինի կերպով գտնվող Ադրբեջանի զինված ուժերի վերաբերյալ: «Համարո՞ւմ եք արդյոք դրանց դուրսբերումը Հայաստանի միջազգայնորեն ճանաչված տարածքից հրատապ անհրաժեշտություն» հարցին ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը նշել է. «Մենք Ադրբեջանին կոչ ենք անում զորքերը վերադարձնել իրենց սկզբնական դիրքեր։ Մենք հորդորում մենք վերջ տալ ռազմական գործողություններին ու առանց զինված ուժերի ներգրավման աշխատել հասնել Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև բոլոր չկարգավորված հարցերի լուծմանը՝ խաղաղ բանակցությունների շարունակմամբ։ Միացյալ Նահանգները պատրաստ է ամեն ինչ անել՝ աջակցելու այս ջանքերին»։
«Ի՞նչ դիրքորոշում ունեք Ադրբեջանի կողմից Հայաստանի տարածքում քաղաքացիական բնակավայրերի և ենթակառուցվածքների թիրախավորման վերաբերյալ, որոնց հետևանքով կան նաև զոհեր» հարցին դեսպանատնից արձագանքել են. «Մենք անձամբ տեսել ենք Հայաստանի տարածքում քաղաքացիական ենթակառուցվածքներին պատճառված վնասը, և տեսել ենք քաղաքացիական անձանց շրջանում զոհերի ու վիրավորումների մասին հաղորդումներ, որոնք երկուստեք խորապես անհանգստացնում են և ընդգծում հետագա մարտական գործողությունները կանխելու անհրաժեշտությունը և դիվանագիտական ներգրավվածության կարևորությունը»։
Ադրբեջանի կողմից Հայաստանի ինքնիշխան տարածքում հայ զինծառայողներ են գերեվարվել, տարածվել են նրանց նկատմամբ խոշտանգումների մասին հաղորդումներ, ինչպես նաև նրանք դեռևս չեն վերադարձվել հայկական կողմին: «Ի՞նչ դիրքորոշում ունեք այդ հարցերում» հարցին ԱՄՆ դիվանագիտական ներկայացուցչությունն արձագանքել է. «Մենք տեսել ենք հաղորդումներ հայ զինծառայողների գերեվարման և խոշտանգումների մասին։ Անցյալ շաբաթվա հարձակումներում գերեվարվածների անհապաղ և անվերապահ վերադարձը, ինչպես նաև այլ գերիների վերադարձը կարևոր քայլ է տևական խաղաղության հասնելու ճանապարհին։ Միացյալ Նահանգները դատապարտում է խոշտանգման ցանկացած դրսևորում ցանկացած ժամանակ կամ ցանկացած վայրում և կառավարություններին աներկբա կոչ է անում հետամուտ լինել իրենց միջազգային պարտավորություններին և վերջ դնել այս հանցանքների հետ կապված անպատժելիությանը»։
