Հունաստանի վարչապետ Կիրիակոս Միցոտակիսը կոշտ պատասխան է տվել Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Էրդողանին՝ այս շաբաթվա սկզբին ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեայում իր ելույթի ժամանակ Հունաստանի դեմ հնչեցրած անհիմն հայտարարությունների հետ կապված"
ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի ամբիոնից իր ելույթում Միցոտակիսը Հունաստանի անվտանգությունը, կայունությունը եւ տարածքային ամբողջականությունը համարել է Աթենքի կարմիր գծերը թուրքական ագրեսիայի դեմ։ Նա անդրադարձել է Անկարայի ռեվիզիոնիստական ծրագրին եւ տարածաշրջանում նրա ապակայունացնող դերին, ինչպես նաեւ կարեւորել Անկարայից բխող սադրիչ հռետորաբանությունը։
Միցոտակիսը հատուկ անդրադարձել է նաեւ հունական կղզիների վերաբերյալ Թուրքիայի անհիմն եւ անընդունելի մեղադրանքներին եւ դրանց ինքնիշխանության վերաբերյալ կասկածներին, ծովում եւ օդում խախտումներին, ինչպես նաեւ Հունաստանի դեմ համակարգված ապատեղեկատվության արշավին։ Նա նաեւ դատապարտել է բարձր մակարդակի շփումները դադարեցնելու Թուրքիայի միակողմանի որոշումը։
«Թվում է, թե Թուրքիայի ղեկավարությունը տարօրինակ մոլուցք ունի իմ երկրի նկատմամբ․․․Նրանք սպառնում են, որ Թուրքիան գիշերը կգա։ Սա ագրեսորի լեզու է»,-ասել է Միցոտակիսը։ «Ես կցանկանայի ուղղակիորեն դիմել թուրք ժողովրդին. Հունաստանը վտանգ չի ներկայացնում ձեր երկրի համար: Մենք ձեր թշնամիները չենք, մենք հարեւաններ ենք»,-ասել է նա։
«Գրեթե հիսուն տարի կիպրացիներն ապրել են բաժանված կղզում՝ անօրինական ներխուժման եւ ռազմական օկուպացիայի հետեւանքով»,-հավելել է նա։
Նա շեշտել է, որ միջազգային հանրությունը չպետք է անտեսի Թուրքիայի անօրինական գործողությունները։
