Իրավունքի և արդարության կենտրոն «Թաթոյան» հիմնադրամը պարզել է, որ Google Map և Google Earth հավելվածներում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Սյունիքի մարզի մի շարք համայնքների տեղանուններ նշված են ադրբեջաներեն ու ադրբեջանական տեղանուններով։ Առիթը եղել է Սիսիան քաղաքի բնակիչներից մեկի ահազանգը «Թաթոյան» հիմնադրամին:

Ուսումնասիրությունները ցույց են տալիս, որ անվանափոխված և կեղծ կամ գոյություն չունեցող ադրբեջանական անուններով են նշված դպրոցներ, այգիներ, հրապարակներ և այլն: Օրինակ` «Որոտան» գետը նշված է ադրբեջանական անվանումով՝ «Bazarçay» կամ Սիսիանի զբոսայգին անվանակոչված է Ադրբեջանի նախկին նախագահ Հեյդար Ալիևի անունով կամ Աթաթուրքի անունով, կամ Սյունիքի մարզպետարանի տեղանքը նշված է միայն ադրբեջաներենով՝ «Zəngəzur Vilayəti Administrasiyası» և այլն: Անգամ փորձ են արել փոխել Սիսիան քաղաքի անունը` Qarakilise. Մանրամասները ներկայացված են կից հրապարակվող` «Թաթոյան» հիմնադրամի պատրաստած լուսանկարներում:

Ակնհայտ է, որ տեղի ունեցածն ադրբեջանական իշխանությունների միջամտությամբ է: Սրանով, նախ, փորձ է արվում հոգեբանական ճնշումների ենթարկել Հայաստանի ժողովրդին ու հատկապես կոնկրետ բնակավայրի բնակիչներին:

Այդ կերպ փորձ է արվում կեղծիքներով աշխարհին ներկայացնել, թե իբր Սյունիքն ադրբեջանական է` ադրբեջանական իշխանության բացարձակ կեղծ թեզը: Ի վերջո, փորձ է արվում լեգիտիմացնել ադրբեջանական հարձակումները և հանցավոր ներխուժումները ՀՀ ինքնիշխան տարածքի նկատմամբ:

Նմանատիպ մոտեցմամբ ադրբեջաներենով են նշված նաև տեղանուններ Մեղրիում, Կապանում։

«Թաթոյան» հիմնադրամը, Ամերիկայի Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի արևմտյան տարածաշրջանի The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region (ANCA Western Region) հետ համագործակցությամբ, արդեն իսկ կապի մեջ է «Google» ընկերության հետ և միջոցներ է ձեռնարկում խնդրի լուծման ուղղությամբ։ Ձեռնարկված միջոցների արդյունքում որոշ կեղծ անուններ արդեն փոխված են:

Այս եղանակով չփոխվելու դեպքում ամերիկյան գործընկեր հայ փաստաբանների հետ միջոցներ կձեռնարկվեն ադրբեջանական կեղծիքները վերացնելու պահանջով դատական գործընթացներ սկսելու ուղղությամբ:
