Միացյալ Նահանգները հինգշաբթի օրը նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի հետ գագաթաժողովում հայտարարել է Խաղաղօվկիանոսյան կղզիների համար 810 միլիոն դոլարի նոր ֆինանսավորման մասին, հաղորդում է AFP-ն:
Սպիտակ տունը հայտնել է, որ 600 միլիոն դոլար կտրամադրվի 10-ամյա փաթեթի տեսքով՝ կեղտոտ ջրռրը մաքրելու եւ զարգացնելու համար՝ թունայի արդյունաբերությանը աջակցելու նպատակով, մինչդեռ ԱՄՆ-ը նաեւ կընդլայնի կլիմայի եւ զարգացման աջակցությունը եւ իր դիվանագիտական ներկայությունը:
Թեեւ Միացյալ Նահանգները մինչ այժմ հաճախ համարել է այդ տարածաշրջանը ինքնըստինքյան հասկանալի, Չինաստանը վերջին տարիներին ակտիվ է դրսեւորել իրեն՝ ներդրումների կատարման, ոստիկանների վերապատրաստման եւ Սողոմոնյան կղզիների հետ անվտանգության պայմանագրի կնքման միջոցով:
Բայդենի վարչակազմը նաեւ հայտարարել է, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները կճանաչի Կուկի եւ Նիուեի կղզիները՝ ինքնակառավարվող տարածք, որի արտաքին եւ պաշտպանական քաղաքականությունը եւ արժույթը կապված են Նոր Զելանդիայի հետ:
Այս քայլը թույլ կտա Միացյալ Նահանգներին մեծացնել իր դիվանագիտական ներկայությունը Կուկի եւ Նիուեի կղզիներում, որոնք ունեն մոտ 20 000 բնակիչ, բայց իրենցից ներկայացնում են քայքայվող տնտեսական գոտի՝ Խաղաղ օվկիանոսի հարավում:
Ներկայացնելով ներգրավվածության նոր ռազմավարություն՝ Բայդենը նաեւ տարածաշրջանում ԱՄՆ վետերան-դեսպան է նշանակել Ֆրենկի Ռիդին՝ որպես Խաղաղօվկիանոսյան կղզիների ֆորումում ԱՄՆ առաջին բանագնացը:
ԱՄՆ-ն ավելի վաղ հայտարարել էր, որ կվերաբացի դեսպանատունը Սողոմոնյան կղզիներում՝ չինական ուժեղ ներկայության պայմաններում, իսկ հինգշաբթի Սպիտակ տունը հայտարարել է, որ ԱՄՆ դեսպանատները կվերաբացվեն նաեւ Տոնգայում եւ Կիրիբատիում:
ԱՄՆ Միջազգային զարգացման գործակալությունը մինչեւ 2023 թվականի սեպտեմբերը Խաղաղօվկիանոսյան տարածաշրջանային առաքելություն կբացի Ֆիջիում, Խաղաղության կորպուսի կամավորները կվերադառնան Ֆիջի, Տոնգա, Սամոա եւ Վանուատու եւ, հնարավոր է, Սողոմոնյան կղզիներ, հայտնում է Սպիտակ տունը:
