Միջազգային օլիմպիական կոմիտեի (ՄՕԿ) նախագահ Թոմաս Բախը ելույթ է ունեցել Ազգային օլիմպիական կոմիտեների ասոցիացիայի Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի նիստում՝ արտահայտելով ՄՕԿ-ի դիրքորոշումը ռուս մարզիկների նկատմամբ պատժամիջոցների վերաբերյալ։

«Ստիպված եմ սկսելու քաղաքական շարժման դիրքորոշումը հայտնելով հատուկ գործողության վերաբերյալ։ Այս իրավիճակը եզակի է oլիմպիական շարժման մեջ։ Իրավիճակը յուրահատուկ է նրանով, որ դրա հետևանքները նշանակալի են մարզաշխարհի համար։ Կառավարությունները միջամտում են համաշխարհային սպորտի ինքնավարությանը` վտանգելով մրցումների ամբողջականությունը: Մենք ստիպված ենք եղել արձագանքել խախտումներին և քաղաքական միջամտություններին։ Մենք դա արել ենք՝ կիրառելով պատժամիջոցներ և պաշտպանական միջոցներ։ Ռուսաստանի և Բելառուսի դեմ պատժամիջոցները պետք է շարունակվեն, և դրանք Ռուսաստանի և Բելառուսի դեմ պատժամիջոցները։ Մյուս կողմից, մենք պետք է ապահովենք միջազգային սպորտային մրցումների ամբողջականությունը և պաշտպանենք մեր ինքնավարությունը։

Խորհուրդ ենք տալիս թույլ չտալ ռուս և բելառուս մարզիկներին, ինչպես նաև նրանց ներկայացուցիչներին մասնակցել միջազգային մրցումների։ Մեզ անհրաժեշտ էր դա անել, քանի որ կառավարությունները սկսեցին միջամտել մարզական ֆեդերացիաներին: Միջազգային սպորտային համակարգը վտանգի տակ էր»,- ասել է Բախը իր ելույթում:
