Ֆրանսիայի Կանն քաղաքում հոկտեմբերի 26-ին Շառլ Ազնավուրի անվամբ արմավենիների ծառուղի է անվանակոչվել: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին տեղեկացնում են Ազնավուր հիմնադրամից:

Շառլ Ազնավուրի զբոսուղին տանում է դեպի Հայոց ցեղասպանությանը և ֆրանսիական դիմադրության շարժման հայազգի անդամներին նվիրված հուշարձան։

Զբոսուղու անվանակոչման հանդիսավոր արարողությանը ներկա են եղել Կաննի քաղաքապետ Դավիդ Լիսնարը, Ֆրանսիայում ՀՀ դեսպան Հասմիկ Տոլմաջյանը, Նիկոլա Ազնավուրը, Կաննի հայերի միության անդամները, այլ հյուրեր։

Շառլ Ազնավուրը Կաննի կինոփառատոնի մշտական մասնակիցներից էր՝ թե՛ որպես դերասան, թե՛ որպես ժյուրիի անդամ։ Նա ամուր կապեր է ունեցել այս քաղաքի հետ և անգամ ստացել է Կաննի պատվավոր քաղաքացու կոչում։

«Այս իրադարձությունը տեղի է ունենում այն ժամանակ, երբ Հայաստանը հերթական անգամ հարձակման է ենթարկվում, և սպառնալիքի տակ է նրա գոյատևման հարցը: Մենք չպետք է անտարբեր մնանք. ներկայիս աշխարհաքաղաքական իրավիճակը չպետք է քողարկի այս իրողությունը։ Ես ցանկանում եմ ընդգծել մեր կապը, մեր հարգանքն ու աջակցությունը հայտնել Հայաստանին։ Մենք պետք է աջակցենք հայերին, որոնք ճնշման են ենթարկվում, և պաշտպանենք նրանց ամբողջականությունը»,- ասել է Կաննի քաղաքապետ Դավիդ Լիսնարը:
