75 տարեկանում կյանքից հեռացել է արցախյան շարժման առաջամարտիկ Մաքսիմ Միրզոյանը։ Նա եղել է արցախյան շարժման գլխավոր կազմակերպիչներից մեկը: Ավելի քան 40 անգամ Միրզոյանը մասնակցել է ղարաբաղյան խնդրին նվիրված միջազգային կոնֆերանսների, 35 անգամ հանդիպել ԽՄԿԿ ԿԿ քաղբյուրոյի և ԽՍՀՄ կառավարության գրեթե բոլոր անդամների հետ:
Մաքսիմ Միրզոյանի մահվան կապակցության ցավակցական ուղերձ է հղել Ստեփանակերտի քաղաքապետ Դավիթ Սարգսյանը, որում, մասնավորապես, ասված է. «Մեծ ցավով տեղեկացա Արցախյան շարժման առաջամարտիկներից Մաքսիմ Միքայելի Միրզոյանի մահվան մասին: Ականավոր քաղաքական-հասարակական գործիչը կանգնած էր մեր պետականության կերտման ակունքներում, տարբեր տարիների զբաղեցրել է պատասխանատու պաշտոններ օրենսդիր ու գործադիր մարմիններում, 1988-1991թթ. եղել է Ստեփանակերտի քաղգործկոմի նախագահը: Իսկ ավելի վաղ՝ 1977-1991թթ. չորս անգամ անընդմեջ ընտրվել է Ստեփանակերտի քաղաքային խորհրդի պատգամավոր:
Մաքսիմ Միքայելին ամենուր դրսևորել է պարկեշտություն ու նվիրվածություն՝ գաղափարին, գործին, ընտանիքին, ընկերներին... Ննջեք խաղաղությամբ, ավա՛գ ընկեր: Ձեր անունը արդարացիորեն ոսկետառվել է Արցախի ու նրա սիրտ Ստեփանակերտի պատմության էջերում: Ստեփանակերտի քաղաքապետարանի աշխատակազմի և անձամբ իմ անունից վշտակցում և զորակցություն եմ հայտնում պարոն Միրզոյանի ընտանիքին ու մերձավորներին»:
