Սեպտեմբերի 12-ի լույս 13-ի գիշերն ադրբեջանական հարձակման հետեւանքով զոհվել է պարտադիր ժամկետային զինծառայող Վազգեն Զարգարյանը։
19-ամյա Վազգենն Արագածոտնի մարզի Կարբի գյուղից էր։ Սովորել էր Երևանի N 6 արհեստագործական պետական ուսումնարանում։
Նա բանակ էր զորակոչվել նախորդ տարվա ամռանը։ Սկզբում ծառայել էր Վանաձորում, ապա տեղափոխվել Ջերմուկ։
«Վազգենի դիրքից մեկ հոգի է ողջ մնացել ու պատմել է, որ Վազգենը որովայնի շրջանում վիրավորում է ստացել։ Բայց չի թողել ընկերոջն իրեն տանել, ընկերոջն ասել է՝ դու գնա, ես կմնամ»,- NEWS.am-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց Կարբի համայնքի ղեկավար Ռոլանդ Հակոբյանը։
Հարազատների հետ Վազգենը վերջին անգամ կապվել էր սեպտեմբերի 12-ի գիշերը։ Վազգենը եղել է սեպտեմբերի 20-ին Ադրեբեջանի կողմից Հայաստանին փոխանցված 95 զոհված զինծառայողների թվում։
Նա հուղարկավորվել է հոկտեմբերի 7-ին, Կարբիում։
Հիշեցնենք, որ սեպտեմբերի 13-ին՝ ժամը 00:05-ից, Ադրբեջանի ԶՈՒ ստորաբաժանումները սահմանի ողջ երկայնքով հրետանային միջոցներից, խոշոր տրամաչափի հրաձգային զինատեսակներից սկսել էին ինտենսիվ կրակ վարել հայկական դիրքերի ուղղությամբ՝ կիրառելով նաեւ ԱԹՍ-ներ: Հակառակորդը հարվածում էր թե՛ ռազմական, թե՛ քաղաքացիական օբյեկտներին։
Վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հոկտեմբերի 14–ին՝ ԱՊՀ պետությունների ղեկավարների խորհրդի հերթական նիստի ժամանակ, հայտնել էր, որ ագրեսիայի հետևանքով զոհերի և անհայտ կորածների թիվն այժմ գերազանցել է 210-ը, որից՝ 3 խաղաղ բնակիչ է զոհվել, 2-ը՝ անհայտ կորել։ Փաշինյանի խոսքով, վիրավորվել է 293 զինծառայող և 8 խաղաղ բնակիչ, իսկ անհայտ կորած զինծառայողների թիվը 28 է։
