Եվրոպական միությունը պետք է խորացնի համագործակցությունը Կենտրոնական Ասիայի հետ, կարծում է ԵՄ դիվանագիտության ղեկավար Ժոզեպ Բորելը։ Նրա կարծիքով, անհրաժեշտ է օգտագործել տարածաշրջանի ներուժը էներգակիրների մատակարարումների, կարեւորագույն հումքի ներմուծման և Ռուսաստանը շրջանցող նոր տրանսպորտային միջանցքների համար։

Բորելը կարծում է, որ Ռուսաստանը և Չինաստանը շարունակում են առաջատար դեր խաղալ Կենտրոնական Ասիայում։ Միաժամանակ, նրա կարծիքով, այս տարածաշրջանի երկրները փորձում են դիվերսիֆիկացնել հարաբերությունները և Եվրամիությանը տեսնում են որպես համապատասխան գործընկեր։

«Որպես ԵՄ, մենք ակնհայտորեն շահագրգռված ենք օգտվել այդ փոփոխություններից: Մենք պետք է խորացնենք կապերը տարածաշրջանի հետ, օգտագործենք նրա հսկայական ներուժը, որը ներկայացված է էներգակիրների մատակարարման, կարևոր հումքի մատակարարման և Ռուսաստանից անկախ նոր տրանսպորտային միջանցքների մեջ»,- բլոգում գրել է Բորելը Կենտրոնական Ասիա կատարած իր այցից հետո։ Նա նշել է, որ խոսքը Անդրկասպյան միջանցքի մասին է, որի զարգացման մասին խոսվել է Ղազախստան կատարած այցի ժամանակ։

Բորելը Կենտրոնական Ասիա կատարած այցի ժամանակ ասել է, որ ԵՄ-ն առաջատար է տարածաշրջանի երկրներում ներդրումների առումով և այս ցուցանիշով առաջ է Ռուսաստանից և Չինաստանից։ ԵՄ երկրները վերջին 10 տարվա ընթացքում 105 միլիարդ եվրո են ներդրել Կենտրոնական Ասիայի պետությունում։
