Հունվարի 5-ը Սուրբ Ծննդյան ճրագալույցի օրն է

Հունվարի 5-ին Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցին նշում է Սուրբ ծննդյան ճրագալույցը, որն ավետում է Տեր Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Սուրբ Ծննդյան օրը: Տոնի նախապատմությունը սկսվում է դեկտեմբերի 29-ից՝ Սուրբ Ծննդյան Պահքի Բարեկենդանով, որին հաջորդող օրվանից՝ դեկտեմբերի 30-ից սկսվում է Ս. Ծննդյան շաբաթապահքը՝ ընգրկելով Նոր Տարվա տոնը: Հունվարի 5-ի երեկոյան հավատավոր քրիստոնյաները դուրս են գալիս պահքից: Բոլոր եկեղեցիներում մատուցվում է Ճրագալույցի Ս. Պատարագ, որն ավետում է Ս. Ծնունդը: Ճրագալույցը խորհրդանշում է նաև բեթղեհեմյան աստղի լույսը, որն առաջնորդեց մոգերին դեպի Մանուկ Հիսուսը:
Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին Ճրագալույցի Ս. Պատարագ է մատուցում տարին 2 անգամ՝ Ս. Ծննդյան և Ս. Հարության տոների նախատոնակին: Ճրագալույց նշանակում է ճրագ՝ մոմ, իսկ լույց՝ վառել կամ լուցանել: Այդ օրը երեկոյան պատարագից հետո, մարդիկ եկեղեցում վառած մոմերից վառում են իրենց ճրագներն ու տուն տանում, որը խորհրդանշում է աստվածային լույսը և եկեղեցու օրհնությունը: Ավանդույթի համաձայն եկեղեցուց բերված ճրագից վառվում են Ս. Ծննդյան տոնական սեղանի մոմերը: Մարդիկ միմյանց ողջունում են «Քրիստոս ծնաւ և յայտնեցավ, մեզ և ձեզ մեծ ավետիս», ի պատասխան լսելով՝ «Օրհնեալ է յայտնութիւնը Քրիստոսի»:
Հատկանշական է, որ Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Սուրբ Ծննդյան տոնը սկսվում է հունվարի 5-ի երեկոյան, քանի որ եկեղեցական օրը փոխվում է երեկոյան ժամերգությունից հետո` ժամը 17.00-ից։ Հունվարի 6-ին` ժ. 11.00-ին, բոլոր եկեղեցիներում մատուցվում է Սուրբ Ծննդյան տոնական Սուրբ Պատարագ, որից հետո կատարվում է Ջրօրհնեքի արարողություն։ Օրհնված ջուրը բաժանվում է ներկաներին:
Սուրբ Ծննդյան օրվան հաջորդում է հանգուցյալների հիշատակության օրը՝ Մեռելոց։ Հունվարի 7-ին բոլոր եկեղեցիներում մատուցվում է Սուրբ Պատարագ, որից հետո կատարվում է հոգեհանգստյան կարգ։ Առավոտյան` Սուրբ Պատարագից և հոգեհանգստյան կարգից հետո, մարդիկ այցելում են հարազատների շիրիմներին:
