Խաղաղության համաշխարհային օրը Հռոմի կաթոլիկ եկեղեցու տոնն է, որը ամեն տարի նշվում է հունվարի 1-ին՝ Աստվածածնի հաղթանակի օրը։ 1967 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 8-ին Պողոս VI Պապը օրը հռչակել է Խաղաղության համաշխարհային օր։ Կաթոլիկներն այս տոնն անվանում են Խաղաղության համար համաշխարհային աղոթքների օր: Մի քանի տարի այն նշվում էր ամեն նոր տարվա առաջին օրը։ 1969 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 17-ին ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեան Խաղաղության համաշխարհային օրը հռչակեց պաշտոնական տոն, որի ժամանակ հավատացյալները կոչ են անում Աստծուն՝ դադարեցնել բոլոր պատերազմները եւ խաղաղություն ուղարկել Երկրի վրա գտնվող մարդկանց, հայտնում է Calend-ը։
Խաղաղության համաշխարհային օրվա ընդհանուր կարգախոսն էր՝ «Ներիր, եւ խաղաղություն կգտնես»։ Աղքատության դեմ պայքար, Երկրի վրա խաղաղության հաստատում, միջազգային եւ միջպետական հարաբերություններում լարվածության թուլացում, մարդու իրավունքներ եւ կանանց իրավունքներ, տնտեսական զարգացում. սրանք են վեհափառների ամենամյա նախատոնական ուղերձները հավատացյալներին։ Խաղաղության համաշխարհային օրը Վատիկանում պետական տոն է: Բրազիլիան այն նշում է որպես Եղբայրության համաշխարհային օր:
