Այսօր Ճրագալույց է։ Հայաստանյան եկեղեցիներում Ժամը 17:00-ին կկատարվի Երեկոյան ժամերգություն և Ճրագալույցի Ս. Պատարագ։
Սուրբ Ծննդյանը, ինչպես նաև սուրբ Զատկին նախորդող օրը կոչվում է Ճրագալույց, որը նշանակում է ճրագ լուցանել, այսինքն՝ վառել: Այն խորհրդանշում է աստվածային լույսը, եկեղեցու օրհնությունը, ինչպես նաև բեթղեհեմյան աստղի լույսը, որն առաջնորդեց մոգերին դեպի Հիսուս Մանուկը:
Այդ օրերին, ըստ հատուկ արարողակարգի, վառում են տաճարի ջահերն ու կանթեղները և վառվող մոմեր բաժանում ժողովրդին, որից հետո մատուցվում է Ս. Պատարագ: Սուրբ Պատարագով ավարտվում է դեկտեմբերի 30-ին սկսված պահքը և սկսվում է Ս. Ծննդյան տոնը, մարդիկ մոմերը տուն տանելով՝ ավետում են Քրիստոսի ծնունդը, Ով մարդկանց ազատեց մահվան խավարից:
Նրանք ողջունում են միմյանց ասելով՝«Քրիստոս ծնվեց և հայտնվեց, Ձեզ և մեզ մեծ ավետիս»:
Սուրբ Ծննդյան տոնը սկսվում է հունվարի 5-ի երեկոյան և շարունակվում կեսգիշերից հետո:
Իսկ արդեն վաղը՝ հունվարի 6-ին, Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին նշում է Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Սուրբ Ծննդյան ու Աստվածահայտնության տոնը։ Կմատուցվի Ս. Ծննդյան տոնական Ս. Պատարագ: Ավարտին կկատարվի Ջրօրհնեքի կարգ:
