Հունվարի 5-ին մեր Տեր և Փրկիչ Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Սուրբ Ծննդյան և Աստվածհայտնության բերկրալի տոնի առիթով, հանդիսապետությամբ Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի, Սուրբ Գայանե վանքում մատուցվեց Ճրագալույցի Սուրբ Պատարագ, որին մասնակցում էին Մայր Աթոռի միաբանները և ուխտավոր հայորդիներ։ Պատարագիչն էր Մայր Աթոռի Եկեղեցական հայեցակարգային հարցերի գրասենյակի տնօրեն Գերաշնորհ Տ. Վազգեն եպիսկոպոս Միրզախանյանը: 

Մինչ Սուրբ Պատարագը կատարվեց Երեկոյան ժամերգություն, այնուհետև ընթերցվեցին սուրբգրային տարբեր հատվածներ, որից հետո Մայր Աթոռի չորս միաբան սարկավագներ ընթերցեցին Դանիելի մարգարեությունը: 

Սուրբ Պատարագի ընթացքում Վազգեն Սրբազանը, իր քարոզում ներկայացնելով Տիրոջ Սուրբ Ծննդյան խորհուրդը, անդրադարձ կատարեց մարդ-Աստված հարաբերությանը. «Թեև չենք բացառում մարգարեների, Սուրբ Գրքի մեկնիչների, աստվածաբանների կարևորությունը՝ Աստծու խոսքը մեզ ավելի դյուրին մատուցելու առումով, բայց այսօր կարևոր է յուրաքանչյուրիս անհատական հաղորդակցությունն Աստծո հետ»։ Այս առնչությամբ պատարագիչ Սրբազանը հորդորեց ներկաներին, թոթափելով աշխարհիկ մտածումները և հեռու վանելով մարդու հոգին ու կյանքը մաշող խոհերը, խոսել Տիրոջ հետ՝ դեպի երկինք բարձրացնելով մեր անկեղծ աղոթքները։

Վազգեն Սրբազանը, անդրադառնալով նաև մեր երկրի առջև ծառացած մարտահրավերներին, ընդգծեց, որ առկա փորձությունները հնարավոր է հաղթահարել հավատքի, աղոթքի ու նվիրական գործերի շնորհիվ։

Վերջում Պատարագիչ Սրբազանը տոնի առիթով շնորհավորեց հավատացյալ հայորդիներին և մաղթեց Սուրբ Ծննդյան լուսավոր օրհնությունն ամենքին։

Սուրբ Պատարագի ավարտին, նախատոնակի արարողության ընթացքում, Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը բարձրացավ Սուրբ Խորան և վառեց կենսատու մոմը, որից Հիսուս Քրիստոսին խորհրդանշող լույսը բաշխվեց հավատացյալներին:

Այնուհետև Մայր Աթոռի միաբանությունը մեկտեղվեց Վեհարանում, ուր, նախագահությամբ Վեհափառ Հայրապետի, կատարվեց տարվա առաջին Տնօրհնեքը:
