Դեկտեմբերի 8-ին ոստիկանության Արմավիրի բաժնում ստացվեց հաղորդում, որ Արմավիր քաղաքի Մաշտոցի փողոցի մի բնակարանից գողացել են խոշոր գումար և ոսկյա զարդեր: Բաժնի օպերատիվ խումբը մեկնեց դեպքի վայր, ձեռնարկեց անհրաժեշտ միջոցառումներ:
Իրավապահները, ըստ տանտերերի պատմածի, ենթադրեցին, որ տուն էին մտել ժամը 9-ից 15.20-ը, երբ տանը մարդ չէր եղել, իսկ մուտքի դուռը բացել էին հարմարեցված գործիքով: Ննջասենյակի պահարանից տարել էին 1 միլիոն 290 հազար դրամ և ոսկյա 11 զարդ: Ոչ մի հետք, կասկածելի ոչ մի հանգամանք, ինչն ինքնին կասկածելի էր:
Այս մասին հայտնում են ոստիկանությունից։
Արմավիրի մարզային վարչությունում նախաձեռնվեց քրեական վարույթ: Առաջ քաշվեցին տարբեր վարկածներ, նաև այնպիսին, որը կբացատրեր, թե բնակարանային գողության վայրում ինչու չկան այլ հետքեր ու կասկածելի հանգամանքներ:
Արմավիրի քրեական հետախույզների միջոցառումները տևական ժամանակ արդյունք չէին տալիս, և վարկածը, որ ոչ մի գողություն էլ չէր եղել, դառնում էր ավելի հավանական: Հունվարի 14-ին վերջապես պարզվեց, որ և՛ փողը, և՛ ոսկյա զարդերը վերցրել էր տան 32-ամյա հարսը և տվել 28-ամյա ընկերոջը, որն էլ կատարել էր խաղադրույք և պարտվել:
Հարսը հրավիրվեց ոստիկանության բաժին և խոստովանեց:
