Երուսաղեմի հայոց պատրիարքարանի դիվանապետ Աղան աբեղա Գոգչյանը հայտնում է, որ հունվարի  28-ի ուշ երեկոյեան, երկու հրեա ծայրահեղականներ Հայոց Պատրիարքարանի փողոցով «Լացի պատ» գնալիս Հայոց Վանքի դիմաց նախ փորձել են խոչընդոտել երթևեկութեանը, ապա դուրս գալով ճանապարհից՝ հարվածել են աշխատանքից տուն վերադարձող հայ երիտասարդների ավտոմեքենային: Հայ երիտասարդները, մեքենայից իջնելով, քաղաքավարի խոսել և  հարցրել են. «Ինչո՞ւ եք հարվածում մեքենային, սա մեր թաղամասն է, մենք աշխատանքից տուն ենք վերադառնում: Մենք հարգում ենք հրեաներին, ինչո՞ւ եք այսպիսի բաներ անում, մենք ձեզ ի՞նչ ենք արել»:

Հրեա ծայրահեղականներից մեկը սկսել է բղավել. «Դուք այստեղ թաղամաս չունեք: Սա մեր երկիրն է, գնացեք մեր երկրից»:

Եվ երբ հայ երիտասարդները ասել են. «Սա նաև մեր երկիրն է, մեր տունը այստեղ է, մենք այստեղ ենք ծնվել, ուրիշ տեղ չունենք գնալու», մյուս ծայրահեղականը արցունքաբեր գազ է փչել հայ երիտասարդի աչքերին և երկուսով փախուստի են դիմել: Հայ երիտասարդները փորձել են հետապնդել վերջիններիս, որպեսզի ոստիկաններին հանձնեն, սակայն արցունքաբեր գազի ազդեցությունը թույլ չի տվել և հայ երիտասարդին, ընկերը տեղափոխել է հիվանդանոց:

Հիցանդանոցից վերադառնալուց հետո, հայ երիտասարդները բողոք են ներկայացրել ոստիկանություն: Ոստիկանները հայնտաբերել են երկու հրեա ծայրայեղականներին և ձերբակալել նրանց: Նրանցից մեկին լուսաբացին ազատ են արձակել, իսկ արցունքաբեր գազ փչողը դեռ ձերբակալուած է:

Այս դեպքից մեկ ժամ անց, հրեա ծայրայեղականների մի ուրիշ խումբ «Լացի պատ» գնալիս, անցնելով Պատրիարքարանի փողոցով՝ փորձել են մագլցելով բարձրանալ Հայոց պատրիարքարանի տանիք և հանել պատրիարքարանի խաչակիր և Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան դրոշները: Այդ պահին վանքի դիմաց կանգնած հայ երիտասարդները նկատելով այդ՝ մոտեցել և արգելել են հրեա ծայրայեղականների գործողությունները, վերջիններս փախել են և շուտով վերադարձել ավելի փոքր խմբով, այս անգամ դիմակավորված:

Դիմակավոր ծայրահեղականները նորից փորձել են կռիվ հրահրել, հայ երիտասարդների ուղղությամբ օդում արցունքաբեր գազ են փչել, հայհոյել հայերին և փախել ոստիկանության ուղղությամբ: Հայ երիտասարդները հետապնդել են նրանց, և երբ վերջիններս տեսել են, որ հայերը հետապնդում են իրենց՝ բղավել են. «Տեռորիստական հարձակո՜ւմ, տեռորիստական հարձակո՜ւմ»:
Ոստիկանները կարծելով, որ հրեա ծայրայեղականների բղավոցները ճիշտ են՝ փակել են հայ երիտասարդների ճանապարհը, զենքերը պահելով նրանց վրա՝ ծեծի են ենթարկել մի քանիսին, և նրանցից Գէորգ Քահկէճեանին ձերբակալելով՝ տարել են ոստիկանություն, այն մեղադրանքով, թե վերջինս հարձակուել է ոստիկանի վրա, որը իրականության հետ աղերս չունի:

Գէորգ Քահկէճեանին մի գիշեր պահել են ոստիկանությունում, հաջորդ օրը՝ հունվարի 29-ին, կեսօրից հետո, Նորին Ամենապատվութիուն Տ. Նուրհան Արքեպիսկոպոս Մանուկյան Պատրիարք Սրբազան Հոր անմիջական միջամտությամբ և դատարանի որոշմամբ Գէորգ Քահկէճեանը ազատ է արձակվել և տրվել է 20-օրյա տնային կալանք: Եվ քանի որ Գէորգ Քահկէճեանը ունի մարմնական վնասվածքներ, վանքի փաստաբանի միջնորդությամբ ոստիկանությունը թույլ է տուել, որ վերջինս բժշկական հետազոտություն անցնի:
