Իրաքի հարավում հնագետները շումերական սրճարան եւ հնագույն սառնարան են հայտնաբերել

Իրաքի հարավում Լագաշի պեղումներ են կատարվում։ Այն հին ժամանակների խոշորագույն քաղաքներից է եղել։ Հնագետները հետաքրքիր փաստեր են հայտնաբերել շումերների կյանքի մասին, որոնք ապրել են մ.թ.ա. մի քանի հազարամյակ առաջ։
Մ․ թ․ ա․ 4-րդ հազարամյակում Լագաշը Պարսից ծոցի հյուսիսային ափին երեք քաղաքներից բաղկացած ագլոմերացիայի կենտրոնն է եղել։ Այս բնակավայրը բացվել է 1953 թվականին։ Այժմ այն ուսումնասիրում են հիմնականում Փենսիլվանիայի ամերիկյան համալսարանի հնագետներն ու մարդաբանները։ Եզակի գտածոների մասին գիտնականները խոսել են Journal of Anthropological Archeology-ում եւ Penn Today-ում:
Հետաքրքիր է, որ մոտ 450 հեկտար տարածքով քաղաքը գտնվել է մի քանի կղզիների վրա եւ բաժանված է եղել 4 մասի՝ կրոնական, գյուղատնտեսական, արհեստագործական եւ ձկնորսական։
Հետաքրքիր է եւս մեկ գտածո՝ զիրը՝ ամենահին սառնարանային սարքավորումը։ Դրանք երկու կավե ամաններ են, որոնք տեղադրված են մեկը մյուսի մեջ: Դրսինը ծակոտկեն է, իսկ ներքինը՝ միատարր, վառարանում թրծված։ Դրանց միջեւ արանք են թողել՝ այն լցնելով թաց ավազով։
Ավազը ներսի ամանի ջերմությունը հեռացնելու գործառույթ է կատարել, այն փոխանցվել է արտաքին, ծակոտկեն ամանին եւ հեշտությամբ գոլորշիացել։ Շումերական այս սրճարան-պանդոկը թվագրվում է մոտավորապես մ.թ.ա. 2700 թվականով։
