Այսօր Կիևում նախատեսված ԵՄ-Ուկրաինա գագաթնաժողովից առաջ կայացել է Եվրահանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ուրսուլա ֆոն դեր Լայենի և Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վոլոդիմիր Զելենսկու հանդիպումը: Ուկրաինայի ղեկավարը վստահեցրել է, որ իր երկիրն արժանի է այս տարի բանակցություններ սկսվեն ԵՄ-ն անդամակցելու շուրջ: Զելենսկու խոսքով՝ կողմերը համաձայն են, որ Եվրամիություն հետագա ինտեգրումը Ուկրաինայի ժողովրդին կտա «պայքարելու եռանդ և մոտիվացիա՝ չնայած ցանկացած խոչընդոտի և սպառնալիքի»։
Զելենսկին նաև կարծիք է հայտնել, որ Ռուսաստանի դեմ ԵՄ պատժամիջոցները «դանդաղում են» և խնդրել է ընդլայնել դրանք։ Ֆոն դեր Լայենը խոստացել է, որ դա տեղի կունենա Ռուսաստանի ներխուժման առաջին տարելիցին:
«Մինչև փետրվարի 24-ը մենք կփորձենք գործողության մեջ դնել պատժամիջոցների 10-րդ փաթեթը»,- վստահեցրել է Եվրահանձնաժողովի ղեկավարը։
Ըստ The Guardian-ի, սակայն ԵՄ առաջնորդները փորձում են մեղմել Ուկրաինայի՝ համայնքին արագ միանալու ակնկալիքները:
Պարբերականի տվյալների համաձայն՝ ԵՄ-Ուկրաինա գագաթնաժողովի շրջանակներում կայանալիք բանակցությունների ընթացքում եվրոպացի քաղաքական գործիչները կփորձեն մեղմել Կիևի սպասումները Եվրամիությանն անդամակցելու արագացված գործընթացի հարցում: Նրանք, միևնույն ժամանակ, կխուսափեն կոշտ և բացասական հրապարակային հայտարարություններից, որոնք կարող են «թուլացնել Ուկրաինայի ոգին»։
«Արագ ճանապարհ չկա: Յուրաքանչյուր թեկնածու երկիր երկար ճանապարհ ունի անցնելու, և Ուկրաինան բացառություն չէ»,- մեջբերում է հրատարակությունը բարձրաստիճան եվրոպացի դիվանագետներից մեկի խոսքը:
Բրյուսելը հասկացրել է, որ Կիևը պետք է քրտնաջան աշխատի և կարևոր բարեփոխումներ իրականացնի Եվրամիությանն անդամակցելու ճանապարհով ավելի առաջ շարժվելու համար: ԵՄ-ն նաև նշել է, որ Ուկրաինան կկարողանա միանալ համայնքին միայն երկրի տարածքում զինված հակամարտության ավարտից հետո։
