Ամերիկացի դերասան Ջո Մանգանիելոն PBS-ի «Գտնելով ձեր արմատները» սերիալում պատմել է, թե ինչպես է իր մեծ տատը փախել Հայոց ցեղասպանության ժամանակ։

Մանգանիելոն մանրամասն պատմել է, թե ինչպես է իր մեծ տատիկը փրկվել 1915 թվականին՝ ականատես լինելով ամուսնու և յոթ երեխաների սպանությանը:

«Ամուսնուն գնդակահարել էին։ Նա պառկել էր գետնին՝ ձևանալով, թե մահացած է։ Այդ պահին հնչել էր ևս յոթ կրակոց, որոնք ուղղված էին եղել նրա յոթ երեխաներին»,- պատմել է դերասանը։

Մանգանիելոյի մեծ տատիկը մեռած է ձևացել, մինչև թուրքերը դուրս են եկել տնից՝ ութերորդ երեխային թողնելով օրորոցում, որ սովից մեռնի։

Դերասանը պատմել է, թե ինչպես է իր մեծ տատը կապել երեխային մեջքից ու փախել քաղաքից։ Նա հազիվ է փրկվել դերասանի նկարագրած սարսափելի «մահվան երթից»։

«Նրանք ուղղակի ձեռնաշղթաներ են հագցրել հայերին և տարել անապատ, իսկ քրդերին բաց են թողել, նրանց տվել են զինվորական վերարկուներ, ձիեր և հրացաններ, որպեսզի նրանք գնան իրենց երդվյալ թշնամիների՝ հայերի հետ իրենց ուզածն անեն»,- ասել է աստղը։

Նա նաև հավելել է, որ մեծ մայրը փորձել է անցնել Եփրատը՝ երեխային մեջքին կապած, սակայն չի կարողացել փրկել նրան։

Այնուհետև նա ապրել է քարանձավում այլ փախստականների հետ, մինչև որ նրանք բռնվել են գերմանացի զինվորականների կողմից:

Զինվորական ճամբարում դերասանի մեծ տատիկը հղիացել է գերմանացի սպայից և աղջիկ է լույս աշխարհ է բերել՝ Ջո Մանգանիելոյի մորական տատիկին:

Ջո Մանգանիելոն խաղացել է «Սարդ-մարդը», «Սուպեր Մայք», «Ինչ սպասել, երբ երեխա ես սպասում», «Սաբոտաժ» ֆիլմերում, «Իսկական արյուն» հեռուստասերիալում:
