Թուրք-սիրիական սահմանին նոր ցնցումները ոչ թե երկրաշարժ էին, այլ փետրվարի 6-ի աղետի հետցնցում։ Նման ցնցումները կարող են պարբերաբար զգալ ևս երկու տարի, Sputnik Արմենիայի հետ զրույցում ասաց երկրաբանական և հանքաբանական գիտությունների դոկտոր, ՆԳՆ Փրկարար ծառայության տարածքային սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության ծառայության գլխավոր փորձագետ Սերգեյ Նազարեթյանը։
Սեյսմոլոգը նշում է, որ ուժեղ երկրաշարժերից հետո նման հետցնցումները բնական երեւույթ են.
«Բնական է, որ ուժեղ երկրաշարժից հետո հետևում են բազմաթիվ հետցնցումներ, այս դեպքում դրանց գերակշռող մասը գրանցվել է փետրվարի 6-ին Քահրամանմարաշի երկրաշարժի էպիկենտրոնում, սակայն հետցնցումներ կարող են տեղի ունենալ նաև այս գոտուց դուրս, քանի որ խզվածքը երկրագնդում է. Երկրաշարժի պատճառ դարձած ընդերքը զգալի լայնություն ունի»,- ասաց փորձագետը։
Նրա կարծիքով, առաջիկա երկու տարիներին Թուրքիայի և Սիրիայի սահմանին կկրկնվեն 6,5-6,7 բալ ուժգնությամբ ցնցումներ։ Այնուհետեւ կհետեւի պասիվ շրջան, այսինքն՝ ցածր ինտենսիվության հետցնցումներ, որոնք կարող են տևել տասնամյակներ։
Իրանում սեյսմիկ ակտիվության վերաբերյալ Նազարեթյանը նշեց, որ Իրանի հարավ-արևմուտքում գտնվող Զագրոս լեռնային համակարգը համարվում է սեյսմիկ ակտիվ գոտի, ինչպես նաև Արևելյան Անատոլիայի կամ Հյուսիսային Անատոլիայի խզվածքները: Հետեւաբար, այս գոտում երկրաշարժեր եղել են եւ կլինեն, եւ դրանք որեւէ կերպ կապված չեն Թուրքիայի ու Սիրիայի երկրաշարժերի հետ։
